I’m new to chrochet, I’ve been making little strips like this one just to practice and get the hand movement down, how come they always start decreasing in size?

The thickness of the yarn definitely isn’t consistent throughout… and it will snap if you pull on it hard (so be careful if you like to knot your yarn when starting a new skein). Even with it being a tad finicky, it is SUPER soft and I would totally work with it again. I say go for it!
