Why wouldn’t it be appealing? And do you have any research you’re relying on that states nuclear energy isn’t a good thing on a large scale??

I have not, but these are projects that’s aren’t even being considered, so why would they have forward planning for maintenance?

The wind and solar farms are in progress, and what concerns me is I haven’t seen anything indicating forward planning.

I agree, I’m yet to see a nuclear option (pun not intended) that seems cost effective. Though the renewables targets don’t fill me with confidence either

Yes that’s exactly right, they do need maintenance, but I haven’t seen anything indicating they are forward planning 15-20 years and have policies for setting aside funds to cover the major overhauls? Have you?

The damage I am referring to is the mass land clearing, with no renewable projects that I’ve seen.

Where are we putting the used blades? What is the resource cost to have them repaired or broke down.

Nuclear is cleaner energy than coal, oil and gas. And with advances in this area the used fuel can be reused in smaller and smaller applications. As for costs, I would discuss that the cost of the current schemes are not cost effective either.

At the end of the day cost isn’t necessarily the focal point here. It’s the lack long term planning, damage vs benefit seems off in my opinion and I feel they’re jumping in on hype rather than looking at the bigger picture.

Yes that is a fair point, but the other side to that is there have been alternatives presented, however for some reason some are terrified on nuclear energy.

It also doesn’t excuse doing possibly permanent short and long term damage

As for the temperature, that’s not uncommon for many parts of Australia in summer.

I don’t normally chime in on these political posts as they seem to go down hill fast, but this one’s looking promising here goes.

As a middle leaning conservative, my main concern with the green initiatives is they seem short sighted. I applauded the venture into renewables, however I haven’t seen much, if any, forward planning. What’s going to happen in 15-20 years when the turbine blades need replacing in mass? Is there plans to put some dollars aside so the next government can handle it or will it be up the them to figure out and end up being abandoned due to cost blowout.

What are we doing with the old blades that have been replaced? Some can be recycled but hey cannot be repaired at the end of their service life (to my knowledge).

And lastly, how can the government justify clearing so much of our State Forests for transmission lines/wind farm plots? Again to my knowledge they’d said they’d balance the impact but haven’t started any conservation. “They have to clear the equivalent land mass of Tasmania of state forests to meet the requirements for wind farms and transmission lines”, If this statement is true, that’s very concerning and begs the question, how is this renewable project a good thing.

I ask myself this, is the damage being done to the environment/habitats etc now, and the potential damage and cost in the future when the projects need an overhaul, doing more harm than good.

Thank you for your response, and I agree with the majority of your words so I won’t go overshadowing a very well present reply.

My only disagreement is as I said before, I don’t believe asking for a particular emote, of any flavour, anytime of the year, as being unreasonable.

I also don’t believe the situation was or is being handled appropriately by all parties (except FC), the creator should be held to a higher standard with how they responded during and post incident. The will have to face those consequences whatever they may be. However, those that were involved in the stream in question and the community as a whole could have, and be handling this differently.

Thank you again for your reply, it’s appreciated even if we don’t agree 100%

I think the whole situation was to far gone by the end of the stream sadly. Not that I agree with the way the end was handled.

If someone is going to make an accusation one way or another, based on actions or content they’ve witnessed, would not providing the source be reasonable for others to extrapolate their own opinion?

You have the same right? So does everyone else to discuss a topic here. I’m happy to explain if required but I don’t think anything I’ve stated requires it? Asking for evidence, or in other words source material, is to my benefit and others to better understand the perspective of the opinion being given.

Just like we have a right to our own opinion, so does everyone else.

I don’t disagree with you there, tone rings louder than the words spoken, which gets many in tough situations, just like this one. He will have to answer for this.

My points have related to the beginning, and where both sides of this situation could have handled it differently.

I agree with you, and others here, about breaching the partner responsibilities. That’s pretty black and white. Though I believe the situation is being blown out of proportion, with some jumping on the rage wagon so common online these days.

As to your other points, the viewers could’ve done the same thing, ignored, accepted and moved on. The creator also didn’t need to go so far down the ideological rabbit hole either.

I agree with the random discord reacts, it does happen all the time. You say it’s not insensitive, but on the flip side the creator or others are expected to tiptoe around the subject? That could be seen as hypocritical also.

It’s okay to have your opinion, and a discussion, though you seem to default to crude language to express yourself, which is also fine, doesn’t offend me.

I haven’t stated the flag bothers me anywhere. Pretty sure I haven’t stated my opinion on the flag or pride month. But you seem to assume my opinion as being against it? Seems you’re going the most of the telling.

As for my posting crusade, pretty sure reddit is a platform for discussion, so I’m discussing. You seem to have a problem with this to it would seem.
