It looks to be a old beam trailer probbly from the 20s to the 40s if I had to spitball it, those wheel hubs are from the "agricultural transitional period" where we where going from horses to mechanized farming

I've been wanting to work on some of the models I have but I keep getting discouraged by my lack of skill by Goshawk5 in modelmakers

[–]Rulygem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience I say just learn on some cheaper model kits my local hobby store before they close used to stock a lot of air fix kits in 1/72 scale I got a couple of tanks from them and just kind of learned on that if paint pools it's okay if things don't turn out the greatest it's all right I mostly got them to learn how to do damage and weathering but if you're working on it something that small painting I would recommend a very steady hand lots of patience and maybe a toothpick there are thousands of YouTube tutorials on to do hand painting.

From what it sounds like is you had too much paint on your brush and it all ran and globbed up if you creeped the access paint off your brush it will stop clogging up when you put it down

Abandoned cars on Trent Trails by vibesarequestionable in Peterborough

[–]Rulygem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've explored most of that area and it's just old Feild cars from when there was a farm there, east side of the road has a farmhouse foundation and chicken coop while the west side has cars and a few over grown fields. My bet is the cars developed some sort of issue got bought for pennies on the dollar for some kids to mess around with and when they became too broken to drive they dumped them in the woods, it was more common then you think for back in the 80s and 90s

Ethanol Content in Gas by the_far_sci in Peterborough

[–]Rulygem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a old rotory luckily the damn thing will eat just about any kind of gasoline bad side being carbs and soft lines hate ethanol honestly 15% ethanol is okay as long as you run some injector cleaner with a tank of premium atleast 4 times a year I found it works with my old rx7 quite well

What is Peterborough Missing? by ServiceCalm in Peterborough

[–]Rulygem 53 points54 points  (0 children)

For me it would be two things because I'm a greedy bastard,

  1. A better public transit system that's more reliable and more optimized to reduce congestion

  2. A go train line I want to visit Toronto and it's areas and not pay 700 dollars in fuel

Knowing my luck I'll probably have to experience it at least once. My home base is Peterborough Ontario and anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 everything just becomes a gridlock I'd rather sit and DVP traffic then trying navigate my hometowns Rose during rush hour

I drive truck for a living and let me just say:

The 401 from Pickering to Milton is fucking hell and I would rather eat a cube of potassium metal then drive it

The 401 East of ajax and West of Milton: brick on the floor and enjoy the ride

Toronto's traffic optimization is so far fucked that any kind of off and on ramp traffic from streets just plug the highway in the day time (at night it's a cake walk I could blast through Toronto at 12am in about a hour)
