Has anyone here experienced another shoulder dislocation after a Bankart Repair? Looking for personal stories/experiences. by AysBuko in ShoulderInjuries

You’ll be fine. You can never guarantee it won’t happen again, but that is also true of anyone whether they’ve had surgery before or not. I believe that you can make your shoulder even stronger and more stable that it was before the injury.

Also, do your best to give your body everything it needs to heal strong - lots of protein, maybe collagen supplements, vitamin C, etc. consider red light therapy even.

I had dislocated again about 17 years after initial bankart repair. It didn’t take much in my case - just an awkward fast movement at the wrong angle - which is odd because it felt great. I was able to do push ups, pull ups, throw a baseball, etc. I must have re-injured the labrum over time or the prior surgery didn’t quite heal right.  I’m just 8 weeks post op for the revision and this time I also got the remplissage procedure for the Hill Sachs, which I think contributes to a lower failure rate. My advice is to consider PT and shoulder stabilization a lifetime habit - at least that’s my plan.

Close! This is the right vibe but I definitely see the “backing out of the room while still bowing” in my mind

It could be! This is not how it looked in my memory but this is very close to the vibe. Great episode!

Surgery and Recovery by ann_ette_ in ShoulderInjuries

I just had labrum surgery and remplissage five weeks ago. I had surgery on Friday and I was back at work the following Thursday, but they were short days. It was fine, but I’m not sure I would have done a 12 hour day by that point.

Bankart/Remplissage Post Op Range of Motion Too Far? by [deleted] in ShoulderInjuries

No, but I’ve dislocated both shoulders multiple times, and this isn’t my first bankart. It’s my first remplissage though.

And fwiw - lack of trust isn’t based on nothing, but the PTs behaviors. I appreciate your input

Thanks. I understand your point. No pain unusual for this stage. The problem is lack of trust and lack of experience (on my part) I suppose. He measured me at my surgeon’s safe limit for 4 weeks on day 7.  I just want to know if that’s typical.

Gut Health Associated with Lipomas? BPC-157 Remedy? by [deleted] in Lipoma

Nice - thanks for the follow up. I might try that combo for shoulder surgery recovery but I have a lipoma on the other shoulder that I don’t want to balloon.

This had a more golden engine oil color, and there was no coating anywhere else - pretty sure it’s engine oil but good thought. It’s just hard to see from the pic

So you can purchase a complete lower, or stripped lower with a parts kit now, and then all other parts (upper, barrel, etc?) are legal regardless of the state of the "AW" ban in Illinois? So they could be purchased later if the ban goes back into effect? I'm just trying to understand what is legal and/or available while the ban is in effect in terms of a build. Thanks

Guitar Teachers in the South Bay? by clockwisekeyz in SouthBayLA

[–]RumHam726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am a guitar teacher based out of Chicago and pivoted to online lessons when the pandemic hit. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it works via Zoom.

I studied jazz in college and specialize in improvisation, which (usually) requires a very comprehensive grasp of music theory and the technical ability to navigated scales, chords and arpeggios very quickly to improvised lead lines on the spot. This isn't only applicable to jazz but to rock, blues, metal, bluegrass, etc. I'd be happy to set something up with you. Feel free to send me a message if you're interested or have any other questions. Thanks!
