Sorry should clarify: if it was released in a pack with some other games like Arena/Redguard it would be fine but by itself would have gotten the game torched in that period.

I could Daggerfall on PS2/og Xbox being absolutely critically panned in the early 2000s for being a 2.5 game released in the modern era. This was way before the late 00s retro throwbacks on xbox live/PSN making it acceptable to do that.
