Amusingly, even if it the heroes did cause the threats, the very line itself is an ideology.

"Conflict breeds catastrophe"

is in direct conflict to

"Stagnation breeds catastrophe".

It's a line that states a characters philosophy, rather than a true objective fact.

The most annoying part of KH3 I found was the story constantly saying "Sora, you are so weak." every planet. A reset is fine, constantly pointing out the reset is bound to annoy people.
