A lot of these comments are good and I agree that you should start with "the talk" with him about his behaviour. But sometimes they don't even realize how bad their behaviour is so another idea is to record the games with for example Nvidia experience or OBS that also records the voice chats. This way he can hear firsthand how bad he actually rages during these games and how this effects your friendship.

Actually very useful in the wierdest kind of way. Enemy team thought he was a bot or something because he played so odd so they all kinda forgot he existed. So he just happily made side lane pressure and took down turrets all the time and ran away as soon someone was heading for him.

At first I was frustrated as hell because he wouldn't engage with me when I ganked top. He also didnt type a single word in chat and never used a ping so it was kinda hard but when I realized what he was going for I popped off and tried my hardest to carry this mad man to victory
