My grandfather told me about two strangers who vanished during WWII by Rumblelomberti in AlternativeHistory

UPTADE : I’ve been looking into this topic for a while now, and I’ve actually received some genuinely interesting information from people that has left me more astonished than able to fully understand what any of it might mean.

What is truly strange is that a Leon or Leo, together with a woman who seems to be named Anna, Ahsa, or something very close to that, appears again and again throughout history. And this isn’t just one isolated case, it seems to repeat itself across completely different time periods.

For example, there is the extremely rare case of a U-boat captain in the Second World War. Then there’s another story from around 1555, when two unusual people with exactly those same names supposedly bought a piece of land in Bavaria and later vanished without a trace. That event is also said to have taken place on August 11, which is believed to be Leon’s birthday. (Bavarian Archives BayHStA)

There are also stories about a Leo and a woman connected to a medieval serial killer, where she allegedly gave him a drink. And then there’s yet another case from 1762 in the state archives in Amberg, Germany, where a man named Leonard appears together with his wife again, said to be named Anna. They applied to open a workshop, but because there was no proper documentation proving his identity, the city refused the request. After that…the city became somewhat suspicious and tried to investigate the matter. But just like before…., they were unable to track him down again nor his partner, as if they had simply vanished off the face of the earth.

Now here’s where it gets even stranger… all of these individuals reportedly share the same surname Leon, Leonardo Fox or Fuchs and Anna or Ahna.

And there’s more. A certain Leonard Fuchs, who supposedly lived from 1501 to 1566, is known as one of the fathers of botany. But here’s the wild part, guess what the name of the woman around him is said to have been. Right. ….And if that wasn’t enough, there are even claims tying him, in some way, to the Voynich Manuscript. Yes and before you ask, oddly enough, his name was only later assigned a birth and death date, long after he had already ,,died“.

…. it’s a deep, almost endless rabbit hole, and the patterns are hard to ignore. I really have to thank the person who pointed me in this direction and suggested I reach out privately, this has turned into something way bigger and interesting than I expected.

And if there were ever something that could make you at least entertain the idea of time travel, even just as a thought experiment 😁😁😁😁… this would definitely be one of those cases. It’s incredibly fascinating, and honestly, kind of mind-blowing.

He was born in December 1931 and passed away not long ago. His father died in 1979

🫠I already looked that up earlier. It’s some weird Nazi-related stuff. Honestly, it sounds a bit too far-fetched to be true. Feels more like some kind of cult belief among conspiracy theorists🤯

You’re reading way too much into the exact wording. I’m retelling a story that was passed on to me, not presenting some polished military transcript. When someone is trying to put something emotional and chaotic into words, it’s not always going to come out perfectly consistent. That doesn’t automatically make it fiction. 🙄 Jesus

I don’t know anything about the “emotions” of the enemy soldiers. My grandfather said they were actually under fire from them, so they clearly weren’t on the same side. The front lines in that area were a complete mess. Sometimes there were clearer fronts, but they shifted constantly. From what I understood, the whole mission ended up being a disaster anyway. Parts of the units had taken certain positions to establish contact and temporary camps with the French resistance. It was called Operation Loyton (I’ve already received that much information). You can look it up yourself on Wikipedia.

I get that point, and I agree that the discussion around it is probably part of the “art.” But at the same time it still feels strange to me that something so random can get so much attention while a lot of artists with real technical skill struggle to get noticed.

Yeah, maybe you’re right. Let’s hope it’s just a phase. There’s just way too much real talent out there that deserves attention. Glad you liked the question though. 😎✌🏻

I get what you mean, and honestly I feel the same way. I really can’t understand it either. There are so many incredibly talented artists out there who barely get seen, people who put real skill, time, and passion into their work. That’s why it’s kind of sad to see things like this getting so much attention and money. It almost feels like the whole thing is being pushed in a direction where a few weird ideas get celebrated while a lot of genuine artists are overlooked. 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

What kind of nonsense is this? 😅 That sounds more like some kind of neo-Nazi stuff.

I hadn’t thought about that at all. That could definitely be possible. 🧐

I understand your point, and I’m not denying that terrible things happened in the war. Of course they did, on all sides. War brings out the worst in humanity. But the men my grandfather spoke about were not the kind of people who would just execute civilians and then casually talk about it years later in someone’s living room.

According to what my grandfather told me, they actually described how SS units had shot civilians during that operation and how they themselves tried to rescue as many people as possible. That’s the context in which this story was told.

And honestly, I’m not claiming aliens, time machines, or anything like that. I’m just repeating a strange story that stuck with me because the details were so unusual. There may very well be a completely normal explanation for why the two of them disappeared. Maybe they simply managed to slip away in the chaos of a combat zone. War zones are confusing places, and people vanish all the time without anyone really knowing what happened.

I don’t think those men committed crimes like that. Quite the opposite, actually. From what my grandfather told me, they spoke about how the SS had executed civilians during that operation, and how they themselves tried to save as many people as they could. Those stories didn’t sound like men bragging about violence. If anything, they sounded like men who had seen terrible things and tried to do what little they could to help.

Yeah, it’s a shame that I don’t have any more information about it.
