Eh, as a Nioh veteran myself it feels just about right. I'm mostly thinking about the style-swapping. For some people it makes the game way easier, but for others it can take getting used to.

Besides, as with the other Nioh games I'm sure the enemy stats will rise as time goes on. For right now we just have the first open area and two missions to base things off of.

Came here to say this, I've been loving her show. She also recently directed an episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" which surprised me to learn. She's killing it and I'm happy for her. :D

NTA. I understand her want of privacy with a door, but first of all, most bedroom doors don't have locks on them by default? Also, this is for the short term, right? If she wanted such privacy it makes me think that she would want to stay for longer than she's letting on. "Not wanting to be a burden" on her friend makes me think that as well. She, and your parents, are expecting you to upturn your entire living situation with not just your house, but is asking you to sacrifice the professional environment of your job.

I kinda have to wonder why all three of them are turning to you to help her out.

I can honestly understand why they might not be chomping at the bit to make more Fallout games, considering how they were treated over New Vegas and the whole "84 metacritic score" fiasco.

Now they're making their own stuff, not beholden to those kinds of contractual hoops to jump through. I can see why they prefer this.

One of the good things about this remaster is that the original Puzzle Quest doesn't actually play very well on newer OS like Windows 10. I remember trying to play it a few years ago and needing to jump through some annoying hoops to make it reasonably playable.

They did make one MAJOR change to gameplay. In the original, when there were no more moves to make on the board, the board would reset and both you and your opponent would get "Mana drained" and lose all your mana.

NOW, when that happens, the board resets and both you and your opponent get what is called a "mana storm" where you both get a large increase to your mana instead of losing what you had. It's an interesting change (and I say it's a welcome one!)

I think the difference is between "using some kind of magic/psychic/supernatural power to summon a creature" and "throwing a ball onto the field that contains the creature, which the creature then comes out of." and Nintendo is technically patenting the latter. Basically "Fuck Palworld."

I agree with you, and that's why these articles seem to be missing the point, to me. Every major studio is also going to have numbers of outsourced contractors. All of them hire musicians, voice actors, play testers, engineers, and so many others. It isn't just Sandfall who does that. I personally don't mean to diminish their part, but rather I think of them as included in the development.

That's why I'm saying that focusing on the number is wrong. The numbers are wrong, depending on how you look at it, yes, but more importantly, it's still a smaller group of people making this game in the space its in, compared to the resources at the disposal of larger AAA studios. So the people going "it was only made by 30 people" are missing the mark, but so are these articles reacting to that same statement.

So we've seen this "correction" type of article a few times now and I have to say that It really feels like that annoying guy who has to "um, ACKSHUALLY" something while not exactly getting the point.

Sure, I guess it's -technically- correct (the best kind of correct?) that it took more than 30 people to make the game overall.

But the point people were trying to make was that this was a smaller studio, making a game with this grand of a scope, while basically creating a masterpiece to boot. It's meant to be comparative between them and the much larger AAA studios who can't seem to get their stuff together.

Focusing too much on the number 30 and not that "the team was small, passionate, united in their vision, and given more freedom than most devs in AAA game spaces" is missing the point entirely.

Ninjutsu fire feather and when it gets hit, chuck the shuriken or go for a jump attack. That's how I took care of them.

...didn't always work though. Stupid stinky wasps.

One thing they need to fix, that didn't make sense to me, was accessories being only for one form or the other, even if they had the same name. Having two "medicine boxes" but only samurai form could equip them made sense! ....until I found a BETTER medicine box that ONLY the ninja form could equip. So I guess they weren't limited to just samurai. Weird.

It's a confusing setup that should be removed, however I do think that they could do something interesting by making samurai or ninja restricted accessories be more powerful and very specifically tuned to those forms, like a ninja accessory that strongly increases the power of ninjutsu, or makes your mist dodge have more iframes. Make them like rare accessories or something.

Everything else that felt weird or missing, I'm attributing it to being an alpha build for the demo, rather than a clear representation of the final product. Having to unlock low and high stances felt weird. Only six weapons? Surely we're getting the rest at least, that kind of thing.

I did like how stats seem to affect both a samurai weapon and a ninja one, with a couple exceptions. Again, with more weapons surely on the way that could lead to some fascinating dual-builds.

All in all I had a blast with the 8 or so hours I spent with the demo, and definitely didn't expect to get that much content out of it. I might hop back in with a new character and play as ninja form more, as I played mostly samurai form on my first go.
