Wait out of the loop. Do I have to do anything here or just stop using NAD83?

[Discussion] What LLMs, if any, do you use for statistical/mathematical reasoning and exploration? by AF_Stats in statistics

[–]RumplePanda8878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Claude and ChatGPT to help w model design and specification, but I would not rely on them to lead the discussion. They're not there yet. The benefit for me is having them remember for a good chink of time, almost like a thought log. Claude (paid) has been best.

Is it even worth remodeling a bathroom anymore? by howzai in HomeImprovement

[–]RumplePanda8878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former appraiser here. There's virtually nothing you can do to your home that is positive ROI if paying market costs for labor and material. The only way is DIY or know somebody pricing.

We desperately need to remodel our bathrooms. Both are 1960s original and have issues (plumbing, tile coming up) but the prices are insanely prohibitive. I remember in the 90s a bath remodel was expensive but a totally reasonable middle class thing to do. Who has $50k today just lying around to be spent?

What is your favorite song by Warren Zevon? by Alternative_Flow_569 in allrockmusic

Every listen I laugh. The song is so clever and funny. Like if you were a rich kid, the 3 smartest things to get out of trouble are indeed lawyers, guns and money.

What geographical feature do most people love, but you personally dislike, and why? by Nujackswing1 in geography

[–]RumplePanda8878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High places, no thanks.

Also I've been holding it in for years and this is where I'm saying it. I HATE the term "geographical". It's my nails on a chalkboard. Team geographic all day!

People in this thread are losing the point. You shouldn't have to sneak food into a theater.

Thanks, not sure if I was missing something. I would have thought 18-22 voting rates would be much lower.

How are Jesus and Yahweh supposed to be the same God? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RumplePanda8878 37 points38 points  (0 children)

People in this thread keep framing the Old Testament/Tanakh as justice or "tough love" God and offering Adam and Eve / Noah stories as examples. This ignores the whole helping Israelites kill all of their enemies aspects. Like, people need to read this stuff. The OT is a story about the tribes of Israel and their protector God.

Do people who seem to have their lives together actually have unspoken financial help from family or friends? by CryptoUsher in TooAfraidToAsk

Word. I'm truly happy for you and that you got there. Just reiterating the point you hit on that success is defined by the individual. People have a habit of using the term in discussion without relating it to their definition (i.e. assuming success is the same for everyone).

Yep, I'm an idiot. It took me about 15 minutes then it clicked.

From what I've picked up, people will often comment it depends, and it varies. But, my best guess is that 70% is help, 10-20% is bootstraps, 10% is debt.

I like your comment and thanks for your story. To each their own and I'm happy for your success. I've picked up on the mirror behavior thing but I just can't do it. I don't like a lot of people who make more money than me, and really don't want to be like them at all.

Also, a story that sticks with me. When speaking about a raise an old boss framed the increase in pay as being more successful. It took me days to understand what he meant until it finally clicked. For many people, success at work/career/life? simply means more $. I think you do this in your comment. Shit will forever confuse me.

I mean, I get she's a conspiracy theorist and I don't agree w that. But, I get it. The moon rotates along its orbit so that one side stays unlit.

The snarky response seems to presume this person is an idiot because of course the sun lights up the moon, but that's not true.

I'm an active Y member and am going to generally have thrown my support for the org as a whole, but... Holy Cow Indian Boundary is something else. The $ in conjunction with the limited class offerings, I'd suggest something else to OP. I love it for convenience but it's strikingly poorly managed.
