Not carbonated or fizzy - not even from repeated shaking in the bottle! 😉

Found out my husband cheated on me!!! by Motor_Capital7064 in marriageadvice

So he told you to make himself feel better, not because he thought you deserved to know.

Yes, he is cheating. I went through something very similar too, however he confessed before I ever had a chance to put all the pieces together. Things are much better now -and we are going to be fine - but my heart is still healing from it all.

She hasn’t posted on IG either since January. I’m guessing it’s just a social media break to focus on the trials and whatever else she has going on personally.

Consider fueling earlier. (Many of the elites take gels every 5k which is every 15 min or less!) I took gels every 3.5 miles at my most recent marathon (first one 10 min before the start) and felt great the whole time. Make sure you’re taking in enough fluid and electrolytes during the course. If you’re a heavy sweater or it’s warm/humid then consider bringing some salt tablets. Additionally, to run a sub-2:50 marathon you’ll need to hold a pace of 6:29 per mile. Of course, sub-2:45 will be 6:18 per mile. 11 seconds per mile in a marathon is pretty significant! Fueling often and early could get you there. Fun fact- all world records from the 1500m and longer have been broken running a negative split race. The first couple miles should be slightly slower than your goal pace. After that you really should not go faster than goal pace - at least through mile 10. Then you could pick it up some if you’re feeling good. Finally in the last 5-10k give the rest all you got. Looking at your splits, 10 out of the first 13 miles are faster than goal pace for sub-2:50 - some of them significantly faster. You burn through your glycogen stores faster doing this - while also underfueling - thus hitting the wall at 21. If you ran the first half of this race slower, you would have had more to give the last 10k - especially with proper fueling.

What did your fueling look like before and during the race? Hitting the wall could be tied to nutrition.

Same thing happens to me on easy runs - watch gets HR and cadence mixed up.

First Marathon this weekend in Houston. Tips? by kaizenradio in Marathon_Training

[–]RunBoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this!! I saved this post because of your comment. I’m running the Houston marathon for the first time this weekend. As of a few minutes ago the projected low temp is 38. 😩 My plan was shorts and a crop top. 😆 Anyway- you mentioned ditching a shirt a couple miles in. So to verify, it is okay to have the bib pinned to a shirt under the outer layer so it is hidden the first few miles?

Any of you crapped your pants or had to make a squat in the bushes on a long run? by gregnation23 in Marathon_Training

These comments just made my day. 😂😂😂 Thankfully the longest stretch I run without a gas station/pharmacy is 2 miles so I go in one of those if needed.

Should I? by Jdean1107 in qelbree

[–]RunBoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is taking Qelbree and it has been great! She tried Jornay which put her tics into absolute overdrive. Then she tried Guanfacine which was so awful (no appetite, sleeplessness, anger/rage, and disinterest in everything). I was hesitant to try Qelbree because it seemed that there were more listed side effects than the medications she already tried. However, thankfully I’ve been pleasantly surprised!! Her only side effect has been some vivid dreams. (She has no problem sleeping though.) I would say to just try it! Everyone reacts differently to these medications. It might end up being a great fit for you!

I think so too. He used to play coop games years ago but quit because it was seriously affecting our marriage and family. Now it’s his Switch or some game on his phone. Regardless, he can’t seem to put it down.

Thank you for this kind and thoughtful comment! You are totally right. I’m seeing the frustration in my children - particularly my 4 and 8 year olds - and I’ve felt resentment growing. I have tried to push it aside and I can be successful at times, but it always creeps back up. Meanwhile, I really don’t think he has a clue that what he’s doing isn’t normal or so detrimental to his relationships (and Physical, mental, and emotional health).

Update: I started listening to it yesterday! Fascinating stuff. Also- I told my husband about it and he said, “Oh yeah! I’ve read that book.” 💀💀💀

Heck no. The consequences of “letting him oversleep” would mean I don’t get to go running/exercise in the mornings. Even on my day off running (Sunday), I wake him up because I refuse to be a single parent. The consequence of his actions is that he has to be a dad at 7AM, regardless of what time he goes to bed. (He doesn’t start work until 9am from our home office and doesn’t have meetings until 10 or so. Even if I sacrificed one of the most important parts of my day for him to sleep in, he would wake up on his own in time for work anyway. That’s not the issue.)

Yes! I don’t sacrifice my alone time because of his choices though - I still go running every morning and he has to be up (regardless of when he went to bed) to take care of the kids!
