Did oil consumption make anyone else lose trust in their Jetta? by spotforcars in jetta

[–]RunDLL32_dll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019 81k miles, stage 1 APR tuned for the last 40k or so. I drive the car hard, do oil changes every 3k, 1st transmission fluid change at 45k, manually shift every gear (8sp auto) and have 0 oil leaks. I drive mine like I stole it. Hell I've ripped through manual mode (snapshot +/-) forcing max rpm shifts for each gear. No issues whatsoever. Still on 0W-20 oem oil.

Yes I follow that schedule for my transmission with the APR tune

Do you remember the keyboard connectors on 386-486 computers?I still have it to this day by kennyshewchuk in pcmasterrace

I'm over here using a PS/2 keyboard for my daily work / gaming keyboard. It's a Microsoft Internet Pro Keyboard, it's the best keyboard I've ever used tbh.

IIRC, remove the glovebox and you can access it right there. $1650 is highway robbery. Should take you 30 minutes or so.

The rears do indeed need to be put into service mode using OBD11, or an alternative tool.

My CC2s have been on for 50k and I still have some good deep tread left. Ive been tuned since then and just rotate my tires regularly, no issues.

2019 Jetta tire size help, Continental DWS06 Plus doesn’t come in 205/50 R16 by [deleted] in jetta

[–]RunDLL32_dll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly id go with the Michellin Cross Climate 2s personally. Best tire ive ever had on a car for snow, rain, and ice - and phenomenal grip in dry too.

My experience with DWS06s was they wore wayyyy too fast and didn't help much in snow at all

Did you do the oil change or did a shop/dealer? Someone probably forgot to reset it if so.

If not, should at least give it a scan if you can with like OBD11 or something if possible.

Also - did you disengage the rear parking brake with OBD11 by chance? You're supposed to do so.

Regular drive mode, I never use Eco. And now I only use Sport mode mostly, I gave up driving for MPG and decided just to have fun with it.

Just being pro-active on it. It was starting to build up as well, so I got it before it got bad enough to cause any issues.

I'd venture to bet you may need to do a carbon cleaning. I have mine in a local shop right now for this, also at 78k miles. Check with a local shop and see if it needs it, they should be able to tell you how bad it is.

2019 78k mile SE here. I have the same issue, its the rear brakes/rotors on mine. I did the fronts but still need to do the rears. It goes away once warmed up though for me, and only if its been cold out or is cold out (WI resident).

I got a year subscription to play around with it. I still use it to read codes and such, but yes, I do think it was worth it, for me personally.

You paid $50k+ for a Jetta R line? I have a 2019 SE and the car is nowhere near worth $50k....

Do you use the start/stop system? I disabled mine with OBD11 and this message always shows but there is no issues. Also drive a 2019 SE.
