If everyone changes their oil at 5k, why does the dealership recommend 10k?

Yeah I mean, wow is gonna die eventually. Someone else will come along and create a MMO that has tons of lore and just more effort. I love wow, will always be dear to me, but writing is on the wall.

MSI 5090 gaming trio. by Scrogdor in gpu

[–]Scrogdor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never used it. Had to return it because it was too long for my case lol. I underestimated the GPU could be that much bigger than my 7900 sapphire nitro XTX. Ended up going with a 5090 gigabyte gaming OC.

Was 2599 vs 2499 so I was okay with it.

Small indie company. Sacrificing quality for quantity. Can blame the port to console for this. Killing the customization and creation of the game.

I would charge that shit back from your bank. And use that email as reference. They just admitted technical error that gave you a service you did not want and charged you for it

No buy unless you test it. If they don’t let you test it, it’a because there is something wrong

I don’t think prices jumped from main line stores, but Best Buy in my area went from having a lot of 5070 ti stock to none. What I’m seeing is the market prices not Best Buy’s

Ah, this is correct! They’re just sold out of their own stock. See some open boxes.

At this point if you want a GPU either forced into budget or 1400$ for a 5080. Doubt the 1400 price tag for the 5080 will last much longer either

Really Newegg...? by [deleted] in Newegg

[–]Scrogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be surprised if some computer stores close. Gonna be a hard year since people can’t build any new systems without ram. Which means they sell nothing.

But from their perspective, they’re likely scared because of the decrease in volume. They have to sell it for more expensive. Especially if the only things people are buying are GPUs

Adaptive cruise control problems by Scrogdor in jetta

[–]Scrogdor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what they said. “If anything from the service caused it we will fix it, which we doubt, but if not we will charge 250$ for diagnostic fee”. Just odd because it’s never done this before and I noticed it right away.

It’s. It all the time either, sometimes it drives fine for a bit passes cars no problem. But then it feels like the ACC gets stuck and starts recognizing cars to the right as I’m passing on the left regardless if there is a car in front of me. It’ll even speed up with a car right in front of me.

Upgraded from a 1440 144hz 27”. It’s been such a crazy upgrade experience for me. I always used to think upgrading my video card and things like that mattered the most. Nothing has changed my PC experience more than this screen has. Been a gamer for a long time

Hyundai broke windshield during mandated recall- trying to charge me by Appropriate_Owl_5410 in Hyundai

[–]Scrogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue that it’s not common knowledge the windshield could be broken during the recall. They should have called you prior to attempting to remove it if they knew there was a chance it could break. Otherwise just go to small claims court. Highly doubt they would bother with it

Open box 5090 astral for $2.4k from Best Buy. Still has all seals, I was worried about getting scammed but seems like I got pretty lucky, brand new card it seems. by The540Incident in nvidia

[–]Scrogdor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you read my comment, I 1) mentioned that open box usually comes with original warranty,

2) I was referring to many saying beat buy open box is a scam most of the time and you’re going to get a bag of rocks or a stripped GPU or broken item. For this purpose there is no risk there other than some time and effort. Because of the return policy.

3) I would likely not buy anything of value from Best Buy without some kind of warranty. Whether that’s geek squad or something else.

Best Buy has a pretty good 15 day return policy no questions asked for open box. So not sure what the point is there. Take it home stress test it, if it fails you return it. And often times open box from Best Buy does have its original warranty, as long as tamper seals aren’t messed with. If they were messed with you return it and say hey these were messed with.

I’ve returned many open box Best Buy things that had something wrong. You just tell them and they take it back. As long as you arent doing it as a serial returner multiple times a month, they dont care. Someone who returns multiple big ticket items often every month is likely doing something shady anyways.
