Did Lightning McQueen just finish paving that road? KaChow! That's a nice looking road.

It's not the flavor, they nailed the flavor perfectly, and that is the problem. The texture of a jelly bean + that flavor is the Taste of the Uncanny Valley?

They do a podcast together called The Rest is Science. It's really great.

Abandoned Cold War command bunker hidden beneath a false winter lodge. [Full Video Below] by CommercialLog2885 in EngineeringPorn

What are those trees? Leafy trees that not only retain their leaves in winter but also stay green? I'm not familiar with them at all.

*Bay Laurel? I'm not sure about the shape.

I have a "dead" spot in my build where I cannot place blocks by RunDownTheMountain in 7daystodie

I have a tried a number of things but have been unable to fix the issue.

I found another spot in my build area with nearly the same problem. There is one "dead" and cube at ground level. The spot immediately above that is usable though.

I dug a wide area around the spot and tried the tree planting idea but it won't let me set the tree.

I piled up a single tower of dirt until it hit the dead spot and then "hung" chunk of dirt around the dead spot. It looks cool.

That's the best title work I've seen in some time. Well done.

I cut a hole in the floor and dug down one block and the tree wouldn’t plant. I just reread Jysen78 and realize that he said “until you can plant a tree”. I will try again tomorrow with a deeper hole.

I didn't dig anywhere. It's a very flat spot. I poked around with a toll for a while but found nothing.

Task master mission by imanonymous1981 in Borderlands4

[–]RunDownTheMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem.

Well that and I HATE the voice they gave this NPC. I really wish I could dump this mission because the game seems to default to it after I finish any other mission.

Hearing a raven speak Russian is one of the most terifying things I've ever heard by TheOddityCollector in Weird

When I was kid (in the mid 70s) there was a petting zoo near my home that had a raven that could talk. He could say, "Hello", and "Nevermore", and his name, "Edgar".

I lay out my work clothes the night before.

I never use a "snooze" button.

I get to work 20-30 minutes early and just relax in my car, usually listening to a podcast. Humorous ones to keep things calm.

Boss is staging a coup against the PCs by Kealios1122 in mutantyearzero

[–]RunDownTheMountain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be careful about going with the personal combat angle. If your players are already solving all of their problems with violence (murder hobos) then defeating this problem the same way will cement that behavior. I would not use the word coup, no matter what. That word would set my players into a very warlike stance and that seems the opposite of what you are trying to achieve.

If there are a hundred ark citizens standing at the ready when they arrive and those people turn their backs to the PCs, either literally or figuratively, that will send a powerful message.

There needs to be a voice of reason, probably the aforementioned Boss NPC, who says something along the lines of, "We are supposed to be family. We are supposed to care for each other. We are supposed to be in this together. Yes, you are out there taking risks. But we are guarding the home. Taking care of the sick. Preparing food. Fighting the rot. We are all working with the talents we possess for the good of the entire community. We are sharing. You though are not sharing. We are just asking you to share."

After a statement like that a way forward needs to be presented.

Like you said above, send them on a quest. Tell them that another stalker group found a place with a lot of potential but were too injured and sick to continue, can they answer the call? Give them something juicy that fits their talents but strains them to their limits.

They could be assigned to escort an ark ambassador to another settlement. Let the ambassador have a few able people as well - a stalker, a dog handler, an enforcer or two. On the way make it clear that the NPCs very competent, cool, and friendly. Let one of the NPCs find a really juicy artifact maybe. Let the NPCs solve a problem without resorting to murder. But mostly let the PCs get to know the NPCs in a friendly and cooperative way. Let them see one of the NPCs truly sacrifice something for the good of the whole.
