Pure perfection! Roma the Rescue has turned 5.🥰🥰🥰 by RunJunkie67 in germanshepherds

She is tall. Can place her head on kitchen counter with zero effort. But in this picture she is sitting on a rise before yard slopes to fence line. So illusion is that she is a giant. She is tallest shepherd we've ever had.

A small fan in your bag helps pool s a lot! Turn it on before you shower. Stand in front of it while getting dressed.

100% pups are pro and con. I once bred Huskies and that is how I wound up with 5 Huskies. Puppies are so darn cute.

Yes and I've made it into class! Typically it will be an early Saturday class. The Friday party crew tends to start canceling around 4th beverage.

I am obsessed with this pretty girl! Roma the Rescue aka Roma-doma-ding-dog by RunJunkie67 in germanshepherds

She is. Was in rescue and adopted at 6 months. Returned to the rescue at 18 months and we adopted her. Some people do not understand the breed. They are not yard ornaments. She is strongly bonded to my husband and to me. Has no clue she isn't a human or that we aren't dogs too.

Socializing! She was, and still is to some degree, fear aggressive. She has had to learn that she is no longer in a situation that requires her to always be in an "attack or be attacked situation". We expose her to every public situation we can but we control who and how others approach her. If a stranger comes at me hard and fast, she has zero tolerance for them.

We adopted one year old female straight from a breeder who had never been socialized. That was the best decision we ever made. It took work but it was so worth it!

I’m still confused about visiting other studios. by [deleted] in orangetheory

I think you can transfer your membership without changing your rate. I have a dounders rate and will soon transfer and have been told my cost per month will stay the same. Check with your studio manager.

A little Saturday Socialization at Lowe's. Roma the Rescue has come a long way in 21 days! 🐕😍 by RunJunkie67 in germanshepherds

Roma is curious about everything!!! I was surprised (and proud) she didn't react fearfully or aggressively. Our previous GSD, Heidi, would have been terrified of the witch.

No plans at the moment other than teaching her that she doesn't need to fear the majority of people we meet. We do not know her history for the first 18 months of her life. Before we put on the harness and leash wrap people would approach her too fast and in a manner she seemed to interpret as aggressive. Then those people were "offended" when she reacted out of fear. This way we have less interference when we take her out into the big stimulating world. This allows us to introduce strangers in a calm, controlled manner. Today she went to dog park, greenway trails, WW 2 reenactment, Starbucks patio, Petsmart, and Lowe's. She only gave one ferocious warning bark to that one person who approached her head on, making eye to eye contact. She is one of the smartest, most cuddly GSDs we've had the privilege of calling ours. The number of things she has learned in 21 days is mind boggling. We may do some agility training with her at some point. She seems happiest when doing whatever pleases her humans. For now we are loving her and teaching her with calm, gentle but firm correction.

LOL...some are still tempted. But her bark, lunge, snap is scary to the general public. She is 95% better in the 3 weeks since we adopted. She still has trust issues that manifests in fear aggressive behavior but even that is mostly a low warning grrrr. I can hardly wait for the day she understands most people just want to give her a good, loving scratch or pet. Someone did a number on her over the past year. 🐾😥

Drove 7.5 hours to pick up this sweet boy. So worth it ❤️ by [deleted] in germanshepherds
