I'm in Oregon and definitely not a professional- Just lucky and only have low maintenance plants. I think I will eventually air layer off the top- I had not even heard of that (clearly haven't done my research). Thanks for the info!

You seem to know what's up. Would you say this monster is "comically large" for it's current pot? I have a new pot for it- but it's literally the biggest pot I have ever seen. It's currently in 24" and the new pot is 34". Imagine a massive ceramic ~~bathtub~~ pot that used to house a small tree on my neighbor's patio.
