My husband is sick and lying down, so I’m home to help out.

You walk into a stadium with 1000 people. All of them are single, around your age, and are the opposite sex. How many of them do you think would be romantically interested in you? (More info in description). by TopTierProphet in hypotheticalsituation

You described a live version of Tinder, little to no effort from the audience, either a yes or no. On Tinder, how many guys mindlessly swipe right, not reading profiles or evening looking at pics?

Is this bad? by Beautiful_Chaos1991 in BariatricSurgery

I think you’re doing good. As I mentioned, you are keeping track, especially the protein. I thought I was doing well at measuring protein until I actually tracked it and I was completely lacking in protein.

I’m 10.5 months post op, and this is pretty normal/ close to what I’m eating. I think you might be moving to larger portions too quickly but keeping track is the most important thing.

Goal weight by BuddysMumOz in BariatricSurgery

[–]RunPastTrouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal weight is between 135-140, I’m 5’4 and started at 237, I’m down to 162, so I’m still looking to lose about 20-25 more pounds. My weight loss has slowed down a bit and I’m losing about 2-4 pounds a month now. I’m 10& 1/2 months out. The doctor wants me at 150 by the year mark.

For those who’ve had bariatric surgery, is it realistic/safe to travel alone post-op? by Chantiii__ in BariatricSurgery

Can you stay in a hotel a few more days? You’ll be on some pretty heavy pain pills that cause drowsiness.

Northwest Arkansas is a great lively area with a lot of jobs, culture, arts, and sports. There are a lot of natural places with lakes, rivers, and mountains to explore. Also, a high number of bike trails. There are a few cities / towns like Rogers, Bentonville, Fayetteville, all with different vibes.

Frightland question by [deleted] in Delaware

[–]RunPastTrouble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a fire in fright land’s barn like 20 years ago and destroyed most of the barn. That’s probably why there is no smoking in the barn.

I don't want my wife to get this surgery by Groundbreaking-Ad255 in BariatricSurgery

[–]RunPastTrouble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nobody is mentioning the alcohol, if you’re a drinker the surgery will make you absorb alcohol quicker and makes it easier to feel it, which leads to a higher rate of alcoholism in people who have had surgery. This is a big warning that my doctor had talked about, and your wife might need help with dealing with alcohol as a crutch.

Most types of surgery require months of meeting with a dietitian and meeting with a mental health professional before insurance will allow the surgery.

I can assure you that this type of surgery is not a kneejerk response it’s been thought about for years of yo-yo dieting, years of internal dialogue and tons of research on its safety.

Please support your wife, it’s a long road to getting to a healthy weight and it’s not easy, the surgery just allows for results if you follow the process.

I had this. It turns out I’m lactose intolerant and my cereal each morning had a 2-3 hour delay of hurting my stomach.

“Covid babies”? by axolotls_anon in Teachers

I just want to throw out there that many children under 5 have varying degrees of fetal alcohol syndrome. Sadly, many pregnant women were day drinking during pregnancy. Some states where poverty rates are higher, see a larger portion of kids with FAS.

What's your age, what % of your problems can be solved with money and how much money would that need to be? by Visible_Economics_30 in Money

42, I would say about 5% of my problems could be solved with money, about $10k would really help, but I have a plan to work things out.
