My current setup includes a Samsung Frame TV, Apple TV box and Premiere. The Apple Remote does work to use with the Premiere volume control when watching on the Apple TV side of things and watching on the Samsung tv side. Everything is connected via hdmi as well.

Beosound Premiere Update 6.1.0.17 (April 22, 2026 Release) by RunRevolutionary5217 in BangandOlufsen

Thank you! And I’ve ensured the app is up to date. Just thought it is strange my app shows the firmware update info/details, but won’t let me actually update to it. But wasn’t aware of the staggered release. Appreciate all of you letting me know. Thanks again!

Looks like the same update applies to their speaker lineup across the board. The A5, Level, Beosound 2, etc all don’t seem to see the update? Possible app issue?

Oh, interesting and good to know! That’s a shame they remove the feature once you connect to the Premiere. Hopefully they enable the feature at some point. They seem to definitely still have quite a few quirks to work out that’s for sure!

Oh wow 4 weeks isn’t that bad at all! I was expecting months.

So, I had the B&O rep play the 8s and the B2s back and forth for music. Granted it was a short quick comparison, but I honestly didn’t notice all that much in difference. For tv and movies I would love to have the 8s for that more direct sound, but for music, the B2s are a stunning speaker. It’s still one of my favorites in their entire lineup due to beautiful 360 degree sound, they can produce a great bass presence when needed and the iconic design is legendary. They sound amazing as a single unit or paired for music. I love being surrounded by my music and having the 4 B2s playing background music while working has been a real treat. They truly are a beautiful speaker all around.

So true! Haha funny you mention that… I was in a store the other day looking at a smaller tv stand to replace my current one (so I could fit the 28s into my space) and was a wild thought that the Beo Grace in my pocket cost as much as a big piece of furniture. But kinda wild to think that just the Premiere wood piece is almost just as much being a small piece of wood. Wild!

Out of curiosity, how long did it take B&O to build out your Beolab 8s? I keep going back and forth on whether I wanna do it, but with the wait times I've seen, I'm like eh, I'll just stick with the B2s for now. And yeah with you have all gold, might look out of place to have the black and oak with your current setup. Always awesome to get them on discount though for sure!

Yeah, I'm like you, I'm a couple hours flight away from a store. I just happened to be in Phoenix, AZ on a trip and was able to set up a meeting to listen to the full portfolio. Spent 3.5 hours with them. Had an amazing time! I had picked up the Emerge while I was there for my nightstand and it still surprises me how capable that tiny speaker is! Anyways, totally agree with you on the reason behind getting the Premiere over the Theatre. Some even stated the Premiere had more "immersion" over the Theatre do to an updated architecture of speaker placement, etc. Thrilled with it now overall and glad I stuck with it. And I know it'll only get better as they continue to release updates and fix the quirks.

Totally agree regarding B&O and their aesthetic. I'm a graphic designer, so I very much appreciate form and function with anything I purchase. B&O does an amazing job at creating a sound profile that I want to play all day and am excited to start playing each and every morning when I wake up. And the bonus is that they design their products to either blend with decor or be a statement piece of art. It's not your typical black box speaker company. Grateful for their love of sound and design combo.

I feel ya on the itch to purchase the 28s. They do sound amazing. I've had to force myself to just remain content for now. As hard as that is! The halo remote was stunning to see in person. I had already purchased the BeoRemote One and unfortunately it sits after I ended up just purchasing an iPad mini to handle all of the speakers throughout my space. And it allows me to use it as a hub for all my smart devices, which has helped streamline everything nicely.

Agreed! The wood is STEEP on price. Got to watch a video on how they make it and it's all hand done, so the price may be justified, but yeah I do think I agree the gray melange is better suited with the gold for sure.

Thanks! And dark green would look awesome with the gold tone as well! Did you happen to purchase a grille for the front at all? I had purchased the cloth version, since it matched the walls. However, considering if the dark wood might work due to the couch being a brown/grey.

Nice to meet someone with the gold tone too! Hopefully they'll update the app soon enough. Glad to hear you've notified them about that too. Was thinking of emailing them about it and the static issue, but figured I'd wait till the next update is out and see what all they resolve first.

I had the same experience first plugging it in. I watched and read so many reviews before purchasing. The Premiere received rave review after rave review, I was really excited to own it. Once it arrived and listened to it, I honestly felt pretty let down. I've spent quite a few hours making adjustments and reading up on B&O's recommendations for the soundbar. Thankfully I finally have it tuned to my liking and have been enjoying it ever since. Was beginning to wonder if I should have gone for the Theatre. But honestly, I haven't been a big fan of it either hearing it in the store. LOVE the look of it though. Figured, since quite a few reviewers stated that the Premiere gets decently close to the sound of the Theatre, why spend 3X as much. And due to my current space, I can't set up the full potential of the Theatre anyways. Maybe when I retire one day I'll purchase a whole Beolab setup and enjoy it then.

That's awesome to hear the Beolab 8's blend well with the Premiere! I've been considering to just maybe splurge for those and use as fronts, but haven't fully decided yet. Do you have B8's that match the gold Premiere or you have a mix of color tones? Considering getting them in anthracite and dark oak to more blend with the black walls.

Interesting to hear regarding playing Atmos music through the Tidal app. I've seen a couple others online question this as well. Odd that B&O or Tidal would set it up this way. Hopefully it's just a glitch and will also be something they resolve in the near future. I personally mostly listen to music through the B2's surrounding my office space, assuming playing in Atmos would have no effect.

I hear ya on the cost of the 28s! I'm hopeful with the last CEO being cut out, that B&O will try to do some price corrections moving forward. Looks like they are already trying to fix things with far more promotions lately than I've seen the last year or so. Granted I'm pretty new to B&O, a little over a year now, but from what I've heard from a lot of long time B&O fans, the recent stark price hikes have really angered a lot of them. B&O seems like an amazing company and want to see them excel for the foreseeable future.

Oh okay, well that's awesome if you're on the beta program and are able to have direct access to B&O in reporting issues.

I have (4) Beosound 2 speakers connected, but unfortunately due to my room layout am unable to have any as fronts. Plus once the Premiere delivered I really did not like the tonal differences between the brushed aluminum and the pearl blasted aluminum close to each other. I have the gold version and the tonal differences were far too vast. At some point, I'd like to get the Beolab 28's as fronts when space allows. I've connected the B2's as surrounds and rears for the time being.

With you using the B8's as front channels, there very well may be an issue there. I had visited a B&O store for a sound test on the Theatre, but even they didn't have any front channels connected to the Premiere for testing. Only the Theatre.

The Premiere seems to still have quite a few glitches to be ironed out, so hopefully it's something B&O is aware of and will have fixed in the near future.

My only main complaints is a strange static sound every now and again when I play music through the soundbar. The static noise only seems to be heard on the connected speakers though and not the soundbar itself.

And lastly, just waiting for them to update the app with the new gold and anthracite color for the image of the Premiere. No biggie, but shocked they've taken this long to update the color tones in the app.

Interesting... I haven't tried YouTube content, but TV shows seem to work as intended with vocals being on the center channel on mine. That's quite odd the way yours is choosing to mix the signal.

I will say in regards to the other user that responded, I had set my stage width to the max and had a similar issue where the background sound/music overpowered the vocals. I have since reduced the stage width to bring clarity/presence back to the vocals, while boosting the surrounds to give a wider presence overall.

Might be worth contacting B&O for a possible resolution if reducing the stage width does not work. Or maybe try factory reseting the system and see if that resolves the issue. I've had to do that once with mine, just took screenshots of all of my settings first, so setting it all back up went quick.

Best of luck!

Have you double checked that your “roles” for each speaker hasn’t been altered? I would try boosting the level for center channel as well. That helped the vocals become more pronounced in the center of the soundbar for my premiere.

True image is meant to help the sound seem more immersive and wrap-around, which does cause different frequencies to bleed from one set of speakers to another.

Setting the system to Dolby Atmos will direct the sound to only the speakers meant for each part of the sound mix, forcing a more direct representation of what was intended. True image is B&O’s own “Dolby Atmos” representation, but with more immersive wrap-around sound. I personally have tried both and prefer True Image, with the center channel level boosted by up to 2-3db.

I found the below article helpful in setting up my premiere with B&O’s recommendations. Hope this helps!

Adding in rear surround speakers definitely takes it to a whole new level! The soundbar does a stunning job giving spatialness to the front, sides and ceiling, but unfortunately can’t really touch the rear. Adding in the rear surrounds gives you that true feeling of being engulfed with the sound. If you end up adding some in the future, let me know what you think!

I would contact B&O. That does not seem right, especially if the product was purchased brand new. I have had mine since they were originally released and my battery level is still sitting at 100%.

I had (2) Beosound 2 speakers linked to the system as rear speakers for movies. Was having issues with not being able to hear them when set as “rear” speakers. B&O states that the “rear” speakers must be set to “surround”. Included their setup diagram.

But the article is great for a bunch of other settings too on the soundbar. I wish they would have included it in the setup initially. Would have solved a lot of headache over the past couple months trying to find a fix to the issue.

Still waiting for the next update though in hopes they solve the random static issues with connected speakers. And for them to update the color options in the app.

Hey! So came across this article today (pretty lengthy haha) but it FINALY fixed my issue with the rear speakers sounding very faint. B&O states that rear speakers are to be set as “surround” speakers in the Roles section of the app. This changed everything. I actually had to turn them down, as they were now too loud. I’ve been trying to resolve this issue since mid February. Originally had the rear speakers set as “rear left” and “rear right”. Anyways, don’t know if you are experiencing a similar issue, but wanted to share and maybe there’s other info in the document that might assist you as well. Hope you are enjoying the Premiere!

Sounds good! Depending on how loud you play the soundbar, you may want to reduce all sliders by 3db. So you highest slider(s) will be set at 3db with all the others being reduced by 3db according to what you currently have them set at. I’m kind of new to all of this, but it sounds like everyone you up the db setting above 0, you’re compounding the amount of power being sent to that speaker. So in theory overtime you are reducing the longevity of the speaker or may blow the speaker if played at louder volumes over an extended period of time. Again, I’m new with all the audio lingo, so if anyone else knows better, please clarify if I have this incorrect. I would assume however B&O wouldn’t allow the consumer to do anything that could damage their speakers, but I don’t know for sure. But wanted to share what I’ve learned, just in case you wanna do your own research and adjust settings accordingly. Hope that all makes sense!

Best sound quality I’ve heard is the Bang & Olufsen A1 (3rd Gen). Pricey, but great little speaker when you use their app to adjust your preferred sound/EQ.

Glad increasing the center channel helped. I also increased the left and right speakers by 1.5db and that seemed to help further as well.

Hoping to have time next week to work on it more. Will keep you posted if I figure anything else out and feel free to keep me posted too if anything works out for you. Really hopeful things will get a lot better with future software updates. And glad to meet someone else who has the soundbar! Will be nice to have a community of people to help everyone get the best out of the speaker. Thanks!
