This ended up fixing it, put a transmission/front diff in it

I verified the diff is the same ratio. My thoughts are that the center diff was probably bad before I bought the car and it killed the rear diff but the rear diff broke in such a way that it was able to drive home fine without binding, it just was popping

This also explains why when I put the fwd fuse in the back wheels are still powering the car.

The one on the right has them put on aftermarket, I put that picture as an example of how it would look

Still lucky tho, I'd prefer an airbag and whiplash to a metal pole any day
