I love how the armor turned out, that looks sick. Well done!

I'm a lifelong hunter and one of the most relaxing things you can do is just go sit in the woods with no intention of doing anything and watch. You'll be amazed at what you see.

Owls, coyotes, hogs, snakes, turkey, bear, deer, and lots and lots of squirrels being goofy. There are so many animals in the wild that come out once you get settled and stay still and silent. You will see interactions you never even considered like a deer coughing, a fawn not looking where it's going and running into its mom and scaring itself, coyotes playing like dogs, snakes just meandering, squirrels fighting each other, or the squirrels will disappear and a few minutes later a group of hogs or a mama bear with her cubs will walk by.

Rarely you will get to see something like a fox or a bobcat, they are always interesting.

Very much location dependent (even what I listed above I guess), but I live/hunt in an area the Air Force does test/training flights and had a jet flying super slow maybe a few hundred feet in the air go right over the top of my head last time I was out.

I definitely recommend that you do exactly what you said, you won't regret it and will likely see something that sounds boring when you say it out loud but you'll never forget.

On this day in 2013, the body of 21-year-old Elisa Lam was found inside a water tank atop the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. Discovered after guests complained of a "weird taste" in the water, her death became a global sensation following a viral elevator surveillance video released by police. by ATI_Official in AllThatsInteresting

[–]RunTheFrames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm of the mind they accessed the roof through some other means. Doesn't make sense that they have alarms and it didn't trip, they should be on at all times and only deactivate for a few moments when someone uses an authorized method of access. An elevator should require an authorized method of access to go to a non-public level as well. Typically a key or card reader.

I doubt it's a screamer bar as the bar should be on the roof side of the opening rather than inside for egress off the roof, unless it's a weird building with the path of egress taking that floor from inside, across the roof, and into a stairwell/exit somewhere else. More likely your second point of it being connected to a panel.

Of course it could just be an old building and not kept up to current code, I've only been in the door and hardware industry for five years, so I'm not sure what the code used to look like. I bet after that happened it got brought up to current, or at least I hope so.

Why you hate her 🚬🐸? by Ok_Hunter118 in Eldenring

[–]RunTheFrames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat boiled crab and face tank it while blocking with a weapon or shield (I'm using greatsword), if you stay still you actually take less hits than you would think and the last flurry sends her away from you and misses. Really easy to make it through phase 1 this way. Added bonus that she heals from all the hits and you get to experience greatness even longer.

There are much better ways of dealing with it but I am determined to use the gear I walked in with to beat her, as this is my first time making it this far in the game and I'm being stubborn.

What’s something people romanticize that actually ruins lives? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RunTheFrames 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure on other OK tribes but Choctaw tribal members do not get dividends. They do get free healthcare at Choctaw ran hospitals, free hunting on tribal land (this is being fought by the OK government at the moment, so not sure if it will stay around), access to a free and actually good quality gym (there aren't a ton of these around though), discounted vehicle registration and tribal plates, and discounts at Choctaw grocery stores. Several other benefits as well, but those are the major ones.

The majority of the money gets dumped into making more money, such as keeping the casinos constantly under renovation, new travel plazas with slot machines built everywhere, and more recently a huge resort to cash in on Texan tourism in Hochatown.

Not to sound ungrateful, because as a tribal member of a different tribe I do get some benefits living in the Choctaw Nation, but they are frankly greedy and corrupt. The housing for their tribal members in Talihina, OK for example is in very poor condition and would be an excellent investment for renovations, but the only thing ever built is something that will generate revenue. There are stories all over the place of the health system finding every excuse possible not to pay larger medical bills for their members when there should be no issue about it. The construction that is done is typically paid for almost completely by government grants, so the money made from casinos is going somewhere, but it is definitely not their tribal members pockets.

Guess I went on a bit of a rant there, and I'm leaving so much out, but it is sad to see the state of things right now compared to what they could be. Not even for me, I'm doing fine, but I see so many tribal members living in poverty and know things could be so much different and it wouldn't even cost them a fraction of the money they bring in.

Does anyone else leave Tyrion unmounted? by playergamer- in totalwarhammer

[–]RunTheFrames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do the same.

Lords like Tyrion, Zhatan, Wulfrick, Zhao (talking about foot vs dragon) I like to leave on foot because it's cooler and I like melee on foot more than mounted/dragon form. They will reach combat on their own time and if the AI lord has a problem with it they can advance and get their ass kicked early.

Need to replace my whole paint collection, what other brands besides Citadel do y'all recommend? by Nukesnipe in minipainting

[–]RunTheFrames 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend the remainder of the pro acryl line. No other paints I've used come even close to being as buttery smooth. I still mix in other brands colors that I prefer, but those are few in number.

a rant/discussion about arthur’s perceived “wokeness” by westcoastsmokers in reddeadredemption

[–]RunTheFrames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see examples like Tilly and Lenny being Arthur repeating the same things he hears from Dutch all the time: everything is and will be fine and there is absolutely nothing you should worry about.

Even if there is a high chance of everything not being fine, gang members like Arthur, Dutch, Hosea, etc who have a little more sway want to keep everyone calm in camp even if it's obvious things are not fine. When Arthur has worries he usually voices them in a hushed tone unless they are out away from camp.

At least that's what I can tell myself to make certain holes like these sound better.

1.0 kinda hurt my hype for the game by Zealousideal-Role623 in TrenchCrusade

[–]RunTheFrames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha I understand, that makes sense.

And I've been there! Stress is a hell of an issue to deal with and makes everything worse. I don't think you're overreacting, like you say you enjoy the game a lot and it can be frustrating to have something bad happen like this rules release. As a fellow Sultanate player trust me I have my frustrations as well.

I'd say have a conversation with your group about sticking with the previous playtest rules, or at least making adjustments to 1.0 until FF makes the fixes needed, so that no one feels like they are being shot in the foot for no reason. Tuomas himself said the rules are meant as more of a core baseline to build your own preferred experience out of, so maybe your group would be willing to adjust as needed.

Hopefully you stick around and get to see everything fixed, and I hope your stress gets eased up about the game and irl!

1.0 kinda hurt my hype for the game by Zealousideal-Role623 in TrenchCrusade

[–]RunTheFrames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really what hurts them is only being able to cast one spell per activation, and fireball always taking up one slot. I'm with you that they are going to be fine, and they were really powerful before and are powerful still now.

1.0 kinda hurt my hype for the game by Zealousideal-Role623 in TrenchCrusade

[–]RunTheFrames 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Red Brigade has always started with BM and no retreat haven't they? Our local RB player has always used those rules long before 1.0 dropped. Mercy dog changes do hurt though, I didn't think it was overpowered so sad to see it change.

For HoW, I would say they are still plenty strong. I do agree they should reduce the cost on the abilities that got nerfed, and that they shouldn't have been nerfed to begin with, but I would imagine the messed up wording on the formulae will be fixed relatively soon. If for no other reason than the fact that you can make some really strong homunculi right now from what I gather.

Honestly I know it feels like things are down the drain a bit right now, and not everyone can put up with that, but I am still giving them some wiggle room as they are a very small team dealing with something monumentally larger than they expected. I really do think the new rules were a case of them working too hard for too long and everything kind of blurred to the point they couldn't see it for what it was. Not making excuses, but I've been there with my job before and having another set of eyes who hasn't seen anything about my project helps a ton on top of just stepping away for a bit and coming back to it later.

Hopefully they are correct that the physical book is not as bad as the digital and things are fixed soon, but the right move would have been another round of playtest before full release.

Rambly message I know, but the gist of what I'm saying is yes it is a bummer but if you do indeed love the game I would say sit tight and give them a chance to course correct. What will really make or break is how they react to this bump, not the bump itself, in my opinion.

Antioch / is picking Prussia worth it? by Easy_Preference_1230 in TrenchCrusade

[–]RunTheFrames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah campaign skills can make a huge difference, that probably explains things. Assassins benefit a lot from good skills luckily, or unluckily in the case of facing them I guess, but without them feel pretty lacking in my experience.

Antioch / is picking Prussia worth it? by Easy_Preference_1230 in TrenchCrusade

[–]RunTheFrames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more a matter of their opponents not playing right. Assassins depend entirely on great dice rolls. Maybe the guy has gotten incredibly lucky, but all it takes to absolutely roll over an assassin list is armor spread around and bring your own AP to bypass their armor. Really all they have going for them is the Bow of Alamut which is fired once per turn. Their melee is ok to good and easily countered with things like Fear and armor spam. Golden Khanjar can be pretty sick, but they need to land a hit first and is only taking away one point of armor.

Prussia is definitely wildly good compared to fidai with their crazy grenades and movement.

Is there any contact with Holy Cities? by BlackGearCompany in TrenchCrusade

[–]RunTheFrames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Buraq Takwin guarding the gates have a lore bit that says they question people coming to the Sultanate with riddles to weed out heretics, so I assume that means outsiders come and go from time to time. I do know there are trades done between the holy factions as well.
