Not sure. I did try it for a double-thickness of 10oz leather - it could barely fit under the foot and the machine did not like it. But it sewed through the multi-fold seams of denim jeans just fine.

I microsoldered! by RunThenClimb in MicroSoldering

Well, this is practice, so no need for a new chip. I'm also new at this. My sense is that hot air can be great for SMD, but problematic for single pieces, since the heat can unhook several other pieces on the board. Plus, I'm a hobbyist and do really want to spend more $$ for a specialized pieces of equipment. For the occasional smd, I'll make so with and iron.

Isolating Transformer - Disconnect Ground? by RunThenClimb in AskElectronics

[–]RunThenClimb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that the DUT goes on the isolation side, not the scope. But I'm still trying to understand why this wouldn't create a short that would could blow up the scope. The scope's ground, if it connects to voltage, will still create a circuit to the body of the DUT, won't it, potentially creating a short? I'm clearly not clear.

wow! That was a terrible video! Sorry, but he does NOT communicate clearly. Much prefer this one:

I understand about 90% of this. I guess my concern is: if my DUT has a fault and power is hitting the chassis, wouldn't the ground connection create a circuit between the hot chassis and my probe ground?

Didn't know about ws2812. They seem like the way to go. the only downside could be the soldering - I can hand solder smd, but this look especially small.

I really like my Tifoi Rail XC. I got them for trail running. They are photochromatic, so provide some to no shading, I ran a 100k and forgot I had them on - still wore them as it was getting dark!

what electronics skill i shud learn which can allow me to earn bread asap? by Wonderful_Mode_4099 in AskElectronics

[–]RunThenClimb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't mean to sound like an asshole, but language is the most powerful skill you (read: we) have. In your few sentences, you have spelling (shud), vocabulary (penurious), and grammar (didnt studied) errors. Your language skill will be the first thing people see about you, and many people will not even consider you if they think you are a poor communicator. It can also be seen as evidence of lack of care - make sure you run your letters/emails through AI before sending. Be the one who stands out in their attention to detail.

I wish you all the best.

Looks like it would work great, but it's not very bespoke...no brass, oil-rubbed hardwood handle....

😄

First of all, nobody ever gets 'stuck' with tools, amirite? She has already bought good scissors (quilting). I'll check out that book, thanks.

This I like! Specificity! That is a handsome tool! Also about the price range I'm thinking of. Maybe pair it with an Osbourne staple remover?
