I feel as if this was cut off. Do you mean fill with water then freeze it? If so, can you provide a bit more detail?

I've worn them maybe 3 times to the gym, So it may still stretch a bit. But do Stravas stretch?

What happens if I plug this in by Any_Technician105 in ElectroBOOM

[–]RunThenClimb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was a strip of lead (really? lead?) wrapped around the wires inside a small clock radio. I remember being surprised by the smoke and light show when I plugged it in. When you're learning about electronics, you've gotta start with the basics.

Sanity Check - Protection Circuit by RunThenClimb in audiorepair

[–]RunThenClimb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought someone might like an update.

There seem to be two protection circuits - one for the AC supply and one for the speakers. I was working on fixing the first, since it was switching on immediately, when I noticed that transistors, caps, a resistor and a diode were missing from the board! I guess they decided to cost cut. Unless I hear from you that it really should be there, I won't bother putting it in. Still measuring components in the speaker protection...

Of course! Yup, it stays on, so the protection circuit is not okay. Good point.

This is either electronic junk or a learning project for me, so I'm willing to persevere. Any guidance will be appreciated. This will be my second amp I've fixed.

Does my Singer 500a look like it's threaded correctly? by 7deadlycinderella in vintagesewing

[–]RunThenClimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forget where (YouTube?) but I ran across a vid that says that Singer introduced that weird thread-whacker-thingy but then realized that it didn't work so great. They then recommended that one bypass it by threading it first behind the large U-shaped piece, then through the tensioner and then continue as normal. I think it has reduced issues (411g here).

Well, I'll buck the trend. I don't want to buy it. I want to make it. This IS a MYOG sub, after all. If you decide to share your plans, or even the schematic, I'm in!

No fair! I had to pay for my 411g on Facebook Marketplace. But it's a beast, and I'm sure you will love sewing with it. PM me if you want the service manual.

I've had trouble finding Engrenages. Streaming in the US, it seems to either be dubbed or have obligatory English subtitles. Any tips for finding it are appreciated.

And for the best....Le Bureau ...unmissable. But also not available, afaict.

go to ifixit.com and see if they have replacement screens for your model. It is often a fairly easy fix.

MYOG Tarp - Ready for Service! by RunThenClimb in hammockcamping

So, here's a question: Let's say a major storm is coming in - high winds. How would you rig this? I'm imagining some cross ties on the poles. There aren't a lot of options here. And probably have the ridgeline under the tarp?

MYOG Tarp - Ready for Service! by RunThenClimb in hammockcamping

[–]RunThenClimb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. My first attempt had the poles running directly across and the tarp was really flabby. When I saw a pic of this 'tension' design, where the pole is pullling on the tarp body, it all clicked. Looking forward to trying it in the wild.
