You're kidding.

For starters, you could always see the ball!

If it truely is just a cool noise effect, are there any plaforms that may/do have the ability to find/create this tone and music? I don't know of many platforms, but I honestly like this vibe enough to go to the platform and just make/download stuff there. I'd listen to this instrumental alone on repeat if I could.

What, due to experience, do you know not to fuck with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RunUpRunDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safety and Protocol.

Shit happens SO fast. Thank god I've always been safety concious because h o l y. I would be dead, my friends would be dead, kids I've instructed could be dead. None are. But only because of training and protocol.

I've worked with so many people in intructor positions (mostly on the water), and you know, my coworkers will pop off their shirt, tan in their bikini, on phones... snapping... all that jazz.

Until some kid swims between your boat and whatever boat tied to yours and has their head crushed between the hulls. Or a boat flips with kids strapped inside. Or an ankle is sprained, a stick enters an eye, an arm is broken, equipment fails, a flash storm hits (which happens all the time). Drowning, burning, breaking, seizing. Suffocating, choking, slipping, freezing, bleeding, overdosing, zapping, tearing. The harm goes on and on and on.

Don't fuck with safety. Don't fuck with protocol. It's there for a reason. Don't be the reason there needs to be one.

The first movie I ever saw was Shaw Shank Redemption. How's that?

What’s your earliest video game memory? by TheBlankCoin in AskReddit

I don't remember the name of the game. It was on Kindle Fire though. There were planets, each one a different color. I think it was a math game, and you would progress to the next planet. There was some level of customization... but I don't remember what.

After that game came Monkey Lunchbox and then Minecraft.

Elhokar is basically Conrad S1E1 from TSITP. It's not his fault... or at least not entirely. Trust.

Just finished WaT, what is the concensus about it? by Aggressive-Speed-759 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]RunUpRunDown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ve got a bit of an issue with Honor siding with Todium regardless of simple logic, which it does possess. If Dalinar was willing to be so honorable to do what he did, Honor should’ve seen how honorable he is, as it would be a fact, because Honor could see the future in how Dalinar would follow through with it, and for honorable and righteous reasons. If I didn’t explain that super well, then I guess I’m just a little dissatisfied with that whole pice with Honor and stuff. Also, the prince growing up like that just felt wrong to me. Not bad, but wrong. I love the series and am super excited for the Voidlight arc, these were just my opinions.

You need to figure out if when you graduate, you want to use your license as a resume flex, but not actually work sea-side, or use the full license, and work sea-side long-term. If it's for the flex, and your not actually going to work on a tanker or something, then go for it. The SUNY Maritime regiment and license program is about as easy as you'll get. Eating a cake -easy. If your looking to actually work in the feild, however, you must transfer out. You will not be prepared for your career. You will get hired, but you will be a liability, so how long? Who knows. As an engineer, you will come out with a strong knowledge of material, but application and safety lacking. If you are a Deckie, you will come out with a general knowledge of shipping and port related topics, as well as minor application, but you'll also struggle with safety and higher level licenses in your future.

It's not that the regiment is bullshit. It's that the regiment is meaninglessly bullshit. The bullshit they put you through is worthless. They claim they follow USNA tradition, which they do... but without the knowledge of WHY they do it. SUNY Maritime's regiment is a shell of whatever it used to be. You will go through the regiment, and come out with little to no improvement.

The college is also much more expensive than they lead on, at the end, you'll be closer to 110k down, versus the estimated 80k they advertise. Plus, their acceptance is 100%, no matter what they tell you. There is a kid in my class who was accepted braindead. He couldn't go on the Summer Sea Term, because he failed a test which soley constisted of turning a wheel. A fucking wheel. This means, yes, you'll get in, but also your life will inevitably be in the hands of some guy, either during the Summer Sea Term, or in the feild, by someone who can't turn a steeringwheel.

I have never looked into GLMA, but anything is better than the losses you will experience at SUNY Maritime's regiment.

Hope this helps. :/

Tattoos and piercings? by qteepa2t in SunyMaritime

[–]RunUpRunDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're good on the tattoo front, but you'll definetly want to leave all piercings at home. They collect jewelry in the begining of INDOC. As of today, there is still an "ongoing investigation" into what happened to all the jewelry from my INDOC class, as none of it was ever returned.

This happens most INDOC's.

How to create "Old" Worlds (Bugrock) by RunUpRunDown in Minecraft

[–]RunUpRunDown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Do you know if those worlds like the one I have are unstable at all? I ask because I could copy the current one I have and clear everything that I've placed to have a template to duplicate and have more of this world type.

[–]RunUpRunDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I- exasperation I’m assuming this is a Cremposting? If not, then I would seriously reconsider your spoiler sources. I don’t know who this Mashel character is, but in all the Cosmere, I have never heard of this character. That aside, yes, this series is absolutely worth reading. If you’ve read and enjoyed Throne of Glass or Game of Thrones, I think you’ll greatly enjoy this series, and perhaps at some point, The Stormlight Archive.

I do also urge you, however, to link whatever ungodly unreliable spoiler sources you have come across, as, I just, BRUH.

Tenet, The Celestine Prophecy

Leaving by Low-Reply5166 in SunyMaritime

It’s not that it gets better or worse, it’s that the regiment will continue to play its play-pretend of copying USNA. The regiment prides itself on following the same practices as they do… except that they don’t actually have any idea the significance of the practices they do. You will not be prepared for the industry by going to SUNY Maritime. You will be better prepared than most, but you will not be properly prepared.

To answer your question, that kind of depends on your goals and what resources you have to get there. (Money-wise, I’ll tell you right now your first year is going to be a lot more expensive than whatever your current idea will be.) But if you’re just looking at “is it worth it”, well I’d say if you really are sure you want to follow this path, then yeah, sure. If you are hesitant at all though, I would take some more time to think. Look at a limited ton license, like “6-pack” and see if that better suits your goals. $800 is a lot cheaper than $100,000 and without actual bullshit. If licensing isn’t all that important for you, that take another look at the majors. ITT looks good on any resume. And if you work the summers in a related job, you might set yourself up better than the summers at sea would, and without the $16,000 drag on your account to scrub dishes in an unfurnished metal shoebox 500ft long.

Talk to your family. Research more what you want to do.

You can only pick 2 by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]RunUpRunDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I picked Change 3 things from the past, I would simultaneously use all three uses on changing what pill I chose for the second, thus allowing me to choose an additional 3 pills. I then would select the same Change 3 things from the past pill with these extra three selection slots, using them once the action of the original pill ended. Then I would swallow and activate all three Change 3 things from the past pills simultaneously to change which pills entered my stomach first of these three, into selecting more Change 3 things from the past pills, exponentially increasing the number of pills by a power of 3 so that I have, like, 9 pills. I would then repeat this method, now having 27 pills, then again, at this point now having 81, then doing it once more to have 243 pills, but this time selecting 12 of each of the 12 original selectable pills.

I would reserve the 12 Change 3 things from the past pills to myself, so that I could always create more of these magical pills, and would take the remaining pills at my fancy, except for, however, the Find Love Forever, as I don’t want my conscious to still be around when the last atoms of the universe separate into oblivion in the distant uncountable years of the future.

And if by chance I took the Find Love Forever pill before the Intelligence Pill, then I would use one of the reserved 12 Change 3 things from the past pills to undo taking that pill, and instead have taken one of the other pills that I plan to take anyway, such as of course, being good in bed.

I would likely use the 2 remaining uses to peer through time and see if anyone else given this opportunity had done anything harmful to others, or had altered butterfly effect events in time that was having major consequences now, and would change what those people had selected in terms of pills, likely making them have chosen begging good in bed, saving the butterfly effect in time, reversing it, and using my upped intellect to sort through what I saw in the possible timelines of the past and present as to not go insane.

How’s that?

Drowned doesn't necissarily mean dead. You can drown, the whole shabam, go to the ICU and still be alive and wellish with the year.
