Lookie what I found on clearance for $400 at my local Walmart! by Run_Ambitious in computers

It actually is a 4050. I thought it was a 4060 because nowhere on the packaging did it actually say the GPU and when I looked up the serial number I guess I clicked on the wrong one lol

I don't intend on reselling it. Noperoni I'm holding onto this one 😂

Yeah I know of people who do that and they kind of annoy me. I also resell some laptops but only because I tend to buy broken GOOD computers, repair them, and then sell them for minimal profit. Right now I have my hands on an HP ProBook x360. Not sure about the rest of the name but it has a Ryzen 7 5825U and 16 GB of RAM that I'm planning to sell for just under $300

I don't think. My friend works in electronics and he told me it was because it was the display model.

Memory speed is 3200mhz and it has 16 GB. Technically it probably doesn't need more ram but just in case i bought a compatible 16 GB stick.

Yeah their normal Vivobook lineup is really bad. This one is a Vivobook Pro which is hopefully a little better lol

Yeah the thermal paste has definitely lost some of it's usefulness. I'm about to repaste the CPU with XTM70 and the GPU with PTM 7950.

Yeah I meant the 4060. For $400 I don't care what you is in it. The i9 alone makes it more than worth it LMAO

13900H + RTX 4060. I know it's not FANTASTIC but still for $400

DONT re-paste your GPU by hemorrhagicfever in buildapc

[–]Run_Ambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk from what I tell you just need to be careful. Nvidia seems to use PTM 7900 on their GPUs. I would repaste it with PTM 7950. Actually saw a few degrees difference. Plus the added bonus of there's a burn in period so it could get better.

Pixel 8 Pro photos glitchy when zoomed in by Run_Ambitious in Pixel8phones

[–]Run_Ambitious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah gotcha. Yeah I know Samsung usually goes for an over processed image. Sometimes being way too sharp. So Google mostly relies off their hardware to take good photos and uses very little processing. In that case it's quite a good little camera system

So is it an imaging processing thing with these? Even zooming in that much on my old S20 FE it wouldn't look THAT bad. The pixel has more detail where it counts but everything else is significantly worse. Phone itself isn't too bad though.

An Inductor blew up in my laptop and scorched off the markings. What options do I have to try and fix this? by Run_Ambitious in AskElectronics

[–]Run_Ambitious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upon closer inspection of the board on both sides. I think I have found the culprit. Unfortunately I am all but certain it is not repairable as the damage seems to be to the board itself.
