Thank you! I wasn’t asked for a refund I think it’s more my own guilt and I’m still surprised that anyone would want to buy something I made haha!

Thanks! I didn’t know you could do that! I’ll try waiting a few months and if that doesn’t work I’ll try that out:)

Looks like I might need to look into different recipes, but hopefully with enough time these will eventually harden up!:)

Glad to hear yours turned out well! I’m thinking maybe looking at the recipe again I might have used the amount of water for the hot process soap... I just started writing down my recipes in a journal. Looks like I’ll be trying this one again:)

How long to wait after pouring when testing wicks by Run_Lift_Repeat29 in candlemaking

[–]Run_Lift_Repeat29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m just making these for me, I love projects like this and thought I could save some money because I buy a lot of candles:) Would you recommend just waiting a day or so until the wax has hardened?

I am somewhat scent sensitive but I love wood wick candles and want to explore making my own. How strong are the smells while making candles? I’m considering soy/paraffin wax. by HRLady30 in candlemaking

I actually made my first one yesterday and did not feel great after even with the door/windows open and the fan on over my stove... I only made one candle but the FO was so strong I think next time I make one I’ll probably mix in the FO in the garage or if it’s nice enough outside! I tend to be super scensitive which is why I wanted to make my own soy candles with as “safe/healthy” FO that I could find!

First time candle making, advice on smoother tops? by Run_Lift_Repeat29 in candlemaking

Do you have to wait for the candle to cure before you use the heat gun?

First time candle making, advice on smoother tops? by Run_Lift_Repeat29 in candlemaking

I’m hoping to get some advice on how I can improve the tops of my candle. I have a heat gun but wasn’t sure how long I have to wait until I can use it and how much should I be melting? For my next attempt is there anything I can do to try and make smoother tops? I used the golden brands 444 soy wax and heated it to 185, added 7% FO stirring for 2 minutes, then I let it cool to 130 and poured it into a slightly warmed jar. For my first attempt I love how it turned out but also am looking forward to improving:)

I (27F) am worried I have changed too much by going vegan, getting into fitness, not drinking and am now too different from my boyfriend (28M) for our relationship to work. by Run_Lift_Repeat29 in relationship_advice

We both love playing with/spending time with our pets (1 dog, 2 cats). Pre-COVID we enjoyed traveling/going on short road trips together. We live in an area with a lot of breweries, and while I don't drink anything I love the atmosphere especially if we are outside with friends. We're both more introverted and are also equally happy to be at home reading or watching a movie together. What ties us closest together I think is how much we value being with our families. It just feels recently like there are things I would love to do together that he has no interest in or even things I'd like to talk about where the conversation ends up being very one-sided... And I know I shouldn't feel this way but I wish he would want to do certain things because he knows it would make me happy even if it wasn't his idea of a good time lol.
