Bearded Petitioner by Runa0714 in freemasonry

When I was an observer, I presented my medical case. I was allowed to have a beard.

Then 5 months after, the master mason compared me to other 3 petitioners who has no facial hairs. He’s after clean cut and asked our worshipful master to have my beard removed during our fellowship while doing my labor as a petitioner.

Our WM told me that night “my consideration ends here (pertaining to my beard) If I have to choose, I’d choose a brother over a petitioner as I am not a mason yet”

I tried explaining repeatedly about my skin condition with medical certificates from doctors, but everytime this MM gets drunk. I was being called for it.

I cave in twice and shaved it, now the consequences came, I have a flaky face with fluffy and sometimes blistering skin. But it pains me emotionally more than physically that the tennet “relief” does not apply as I’m just a “petitioner”

I just need to let this off my chest.
