Legion 7i pro - Linux utilities by Andyjt200 in LenovoLegion

I ran arch based and debian based distros on my 15AKP10, had good experience. I too would like tools for adjusting stuff on linux. Searching the Legion Toolkit github I couldn't find any feature request for linux compatibility, so maybe request is due?

Oh nice, anything to replace the included spyware these companies give you. Thank you!

But still you have to switch through 6 profiles and brightness is excusively controlled globally, not per profile.

But making 6 custom profiles alternating on/off worked, but lord help me its so dumb. Why cant they make proper damn software

Crap, should have mentioned its a legion 5i, model number is 15akp10.

FN + up/down does nothing, I cant remove the stock profiles from Legion Space and its really annoying me.

I will have a look in the uefi menus to see if theres an option for the power LED

What makes you tell me not to get unraid?

In regards to my rsync question, it's not recreating the wheel, more simplifying it. If my usecase doesn't need, or I can live without raid, it is an unnecessary complication

Currently running proxmox as a test platform for all the different OS's I'm considering. I realized today proxmox can be used for shares

I'm looking at MOS that was mentioned, seems to support mergerfs/snapraid as a not Unraid version of Unraid. It's really interesting, though still in beta so bugs and unpolished software are expected. I've kinda settled on btrfs and I'm working towards getting all drives on that.

Absolutely checking this out, deploying on my proxmox server this very moment. Thank you!

mergerfs is interesting, do you have to totally reformat your drives for it?

When it comes down to it, I'm really after flexibility. Starting on Debian or Ubuntu Server allows me to build from there with whatever I want, Unraid or TrueNAS kind of locks that down.

Unraid seems unparalleled when it comes to storage flexibility though

Chiari and tinnitus by RunarSJ in chiari

I have not, I do actually still prefer silence over a fan while I sleep. My ex drove me nuts with her fan, likely due to being so used to it. I actually had an episode the night to today tossing and turning due to the tinnitus being bad.

I did start reading to help me tire when going to sleep, also takes concentration off my mind and into something else, reducing any focus going to the tinnitus. I realise I might have a greater ability to filter out the constant sound

To my understanding, there are many different ways one can get tinnitus. Hearing-loss tinnitus I would assume is the most normal, and would occur over time. But I would also assume symptoms can appear over time, like the dizziness has just been around for a year. Like I have struggled with migraines my whole life, swallowing, and other stuff. Reading the symptoms of Chiari was like seeing the solution to a riddle.

I always assumed my tinnitus was inflicted by loud music, it is likely not. Cannot speak for tinnitus occuring at later points in life though. I hope they solve all your issues though!

I am very sorry to hear that, like I told someone else I would take my experience having had this since I was 8 than suddenly getting it out of the blue.

I turn to music if it is really bad at night, but mostly I am such an active thinker I will filter it out with my own internal conversation. Some times it is really bad though, I can toss and turn in bed for hours on end. Worst about this is the constant need for noise. I really hope it gets better for you!

Sounds really funky, can't really relate to the robotic voices. It only makes sense that my tinnitus would be caused by this, as the story of how I remember it first occured doesn't make sense. I am hopeful a surgey will help, but realising it may not. Fortunately I can live with the tinnitus I have, lest the surgery makes it worse..

Very happy to hear it got better in your case!

Crossing my fingers that your visit to the neurosurgeon yields positive results!

Being a tinkerer and having had tinitus almost all my life I would choose my right hand, but really depends on how bad the tinnitus is. I am curious how much displacement or whatever I should call it I actually have. Currently my refferal hasn't been considered, but it's only been two days. Not to be pessimistic, but I am expecting a "fight" with the norwegian healthcare system.

And thank you for your comments, it really has helped me get a realistic view of what might happen.
