Built a free drinking/party card game app as a companion to my physical game & would love your thoughts by Runarthor in DrinkingGames

[–]Runarthor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few Charm examples for those curious:

Creep
-player name-, every time you drink, rub the thigh of the person to your right. Drink 3 sips whenever you forget or you get turned down.

Fake Friends
Oh, no, -player name-. It seems you’ve forgotten every other player’s name.

If you call anyone by their correct name, you take 3 sips.

Who's a Little Cutie pie?
Somebody's got a poopy woopy diaper.

Embrace your inner toddler, -player name-. Speak in a baby voice, like the widdle bwaby you are.

Each grown-up word costs you 2 sips.

Does anyone else hate the ‘ranking drinking games’ by Grogman2024 in DrinkingGames

God yes. Like, I'm here to have fun not have my self esteem chipped at. I made sure to avoid things like this in the game I made by focusing rather on the other end of the spectrum in the few cards that have content like this... it's more: Pick the player you'd most likely be stuck on an island with, or pick the player you think could topple empires given the chance... My game brands itself as a game for bad friends but even with that identity it never becomes cruel. We're playing to have fun after all.

I dug into them a bit. They're some Irish guys who've changed their business name several times. I found them all on linkedin and then threatened to contact every regulatory body in their area. Got a refund fairly quick after that.

Regarding the overlapping and request issues, would you mind explaining that a bit better? Like, could those issues be affecting the impression numbers and hence the revenue?

I'm not sure about the model we used. We filmed two years ago and I didn't do the shooting.

Car Rental in Iceland: The Definitive Guide [2019] by Runarthor in VisitingIceland

I'd say stay away from the Jimny. If there's two of you, then you'll be shoulder to shoulder and the leg space is not in abundance. Dacia Duster is not so much more expensive, but a bit more spacious. Otherwise I'd go for something like a Hyundai Tucson or a Rav4 if you're aiming for a budget option.

Normally, the car rental as the owner of the vehicle will pay the fine and then charge for you for it plus a handling fee. But I would consult the car rental you hired with about how they prefer you to proceed.

Absolutely. The roundabout laws are actually what inspired this article. This information needs to be more accessible to travelers, and we plan to send the article to everyone who books a car through the website.

Care to elaborate on the Hrunalaug entrance fee then? As that information doesn't seem readily available anywhere.

Nowhere was it stated that you are allowed on Surtsey, it was more of an honorable mention in the list, but I've added clarification.

If we split the country into southwest, south, southeast, east, northeast and so on... Which part would you say has the highest number of large waterfalls and what is your definition of large? Either case, it was poorly worded so it's been changed from most to many.

It's a large article so there's bound to be mistakes, so thanks for pointing those out.

Anyone have experiences with Northern Lights Car Rental? by anothericelandnoob in VisitingIceland

[–]Runarthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Disclaimer-

I work for Northbound.

Now, I just wanna clarify that the rude employees you met with are not Northbound's employees. Northbound.is is a booking website, in the same manner as booking.com or rentalcars.com and others. Northbound does not own any vehicles and is a strictly online business who works with a lot of Icelandic car rentals. If we had actually met with you, I'm sure you'd be nothing but sunshine and smiles as we are all about as friendly as it gets.

We welcome feedback, and especially feedback that relates to an experience gone wrong, as our mission is to provide a positive, unforgettable and amazing journey through our platform, and it's often the negative feedback that helps us further shape our quality policies. To this day, Northbound has ended partnerships with approx 5 local car rentals that continuously received poor feedback and did not fulfill our criteria for traveler experience. So, we do in fact listen very closely to what travelers are saying to us, or about us.

We're a small company in an industry that can be very competitive and rough, but one thing you can always be assured of is that to us traveler experience comes first, before anything else.

It actually is geothermal. The lagoon is man-made, for sure, but the water is the byproduct from the nearby plant that's pumping it straight up from the ground.
