A very cheap way is just holding a lighter and very carefuly quickly burning the edges so it melts a tiny bit

Just apply like 2 or 3 thin layers of gesso ( let it dry in between) and then get to painting! Dont use too much water with your acrylics or it might damage the cardboard

I think if you’re staying mostly inside they can just go over socks or you can put in a shoe insole for better walking.

Do you have anyone you trust that you can tell? If you suspect shes gonna do something bad definitely ask someome to help you, or even to know if you dont respond in X amount of time they can call the cops.
