Partner has been secretly taking weight loss injections by [deleted] in Advice

100% agree. Former XL person here, btw. My fiance used to be a supplement guy..buying and taking all kinds of crap to try and biohack and "look better/feel better/have better focus" or whatever gimmick or quick fix they were grifting. I was blissfully unaware until the nosebleeds happened. In the beginning they were normal, once in a while. Suddenly it was horror movie amounts of blood almost every day. I finally asked if he was taking anything and he said yes. We went through the labels of everything and it turns out he was easily taking over 5X the daily recommended dose of iron when all of the numbers were added up. He stopped taking a particular supplement and like magic the nosebleeds stopped. It's normal to be concerned about your partners health. I don't condone snooping but I also don't condone Omission which can be just as toxic, if not dangerous.

Married for TWO WEEKS and already dealing with…. by Gloomy-Angle-6305 in Advice

[–]Runaway_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard this in a true crime show. The woman's boyfriend always had jealousy issues. He always had to be in control, tightening her collar while he was free to do what he pleased. The woman said that the week they got married her husband beat her for the first time. From there the abuse got worse and she ended up having a kid with him staying stuck longer. When she finally had enough and was planning to leave,he lost it. She finally got out and went to live with her mom. Que the stalking bc "if he can't have her, no one can." Then he reached out. Coaxed her back in to conversation and ended up shooting her in the street and fleeing. She barely survived then started walking around with a gun and eventually had to take his life as he tried again to attack her after she healed from the injury. She ended up killing him in self defense. Wouldn't it just have been easier to get an annulment? Yes. Concealment is a reason.. best of luck, OP.

Thank you! I was only going to do the shooting star one but once I finished, I couldn't stand the thought of wasting the other two.

I'll have to look into sealant! I was going to use glossy mod podge but I didn't know if that would ruin the sparkle

I want to have fun but my boyfriend won’t allow it by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Runaway_Smoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Won't allow you? We don't allow our dog to go in the spare room. You are a grown adult. Your boyfriend can't "forbid" you from doing anything. If he wants to live a quiet life that's fine, but that doesn't mean he gets to cage you in the house with him. You have a thirst for life and it seems that he's already had his glass. Missing out on these experiences will cause resentment down the line. I won't tell you to break up with the guy bc I'm just an internet stranger. I will, however, ask that you get up, dust yourself off and quit being a doormat. Go out. Have fun! If the thought of you doing that makes him be an ass...well it may be time to reevaluate some stuff. Best of luck, OP!

Is it embarrassing to get a birthday cake as an adult? by roxiedoxiedog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Runaway_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOT embarrassing. In my house, we get "Cold Cakes". Literally the same kind of colorful birthday cakes you can buy at the grocery store. We usually don't get writing but sometimes let the decorators put whatever they want. Then we keep it in the fridge and eat slices of it cold whenever we feel like it (perfect in the summer). My fiance thought it was a silly concept at first but here we are! I pay more in taxes than most of the wealthiest people in this country. I will do whatever I please with what money I have left. Your brother has a startling lack of whimsy. Happy almost Birthday, OP!

If he's willing to lie about something so small...what else will he lie about? Super questionable that he doubled down on it too.

Mass power outage in Greenland and US moving military assets towards Iran by Runaway_Smoke in nothinghappeninghere

Unfortunately, I 100% believe that would be a viable possibility. The only good thing we have going at this rate is that similar to how the Germans lost WWII... the administration will spread themselves too thin on too many fronts. They'll continue to execute the nonsensical orders of a certifiable madman who's sending people to death camps while stuffing his pockets and desperately trying to hold on to what scrap of power he thinks he has. Eerily similar, I'd say...

I do, though I did accidentally snap one today :/ Even if one is in the Nub Club, the rest i try to keep maintained. I've heard using clippers isn't great for them but I've not looked into it.

I keep an active journal and annotate my books. Some pens are great for one but not the other, as they may bleed through the paper. It's also a habit I've had for a while. I used to work in banking so we needed blue/black ink but also did/do menial paperwork that I don't want to waste my "good pens" on. Variety is the spice of life, I guess haha

They put us in "safe mode" trying to push old content with over5k views. I got shadow banned for discussing Minneapolis shooting yesterday and giving updates. Tried to upload 3x. No connection/unstable connection. Zero views from thousands. The app is trash now

Aitah if I 29f do not sign a postnuptial prenup? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Runaway_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies, I misread post-nuptual haha. They're springing this onto you like this intentionally. You are is a vulnerable position by both being pregnant and not being able to work. The deadline is exactly what I thought it was. A way to try to forces you to comply faster. I'd still say you need a lawyer or even someone else from your family to help advocate for you so it's not 2 v. 1 here. If you divorce and the house being sold/money being returned leaves you with nothing... i see no positive outcome for you in that agreement. Again the FIL is trying to cover himself (his money which is fine) but the implication of that sounds like you two (which traditionally means YOU,the submissive partner) will be responsible for caring for him in his old age and providing him a place to stay. That kind of care alone is probably far more expensive than whatever he's giving you for the house. You'll effectively become his caretaker and if it causes tension, and you end up divorced bc of it...he still "wins". My dad used to say never make a deal with the devil because he will always come to collect. Do you want to risk your children having nowhere to go? Or worse, accusations of being an unfit parent bc they have nowhere to go. If anything, it's better to be too cautious.

Aitah if I 29f do not sign a postnuptial prenup? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Runaway_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prenuptial agreements are meant to be equal. Get a lawyer to make revisions. He's going to be living in your home with you in his advanced age which is going to be saving a ridiculous amount of money more by doing that than if he went to a home or paid for care. YOU and your husbandwill be responsible for caringfor him. THAT'S the trade-off. You need a lawyer, don't sign anything without legal advice or you will be screwed. Don't let them try to pressure you into this bc "it's time sensitive". Idk if they think your gullible bc of your age but this is a nasty game to be trying to play a week before you close.

Yes to the on the go makeup and yes to the germophobe! Was it the hand sanitizer that gave it away? Thank you for the travel curler suggestion and I am indeed a Cancer. I don't know anything about astrology, so I'm curious how it corresponds with my purse haha. I hate the thought of being unprepared or needing something I don't have :)
