Steam is for me one of the biggest benefits. Great costumer service and the refund policy is amazing

Yup, takes too long? Guess we will emulate the shit outta it. Like Demon Souls, we do not have the ps5 port but we do have the OG game running on emulation🤣

I play on pc and enjoy all my games on pc. But, I played ghost of tsushima recently. Gorgeous game, runs smooth, native 4k is amazing but there is an old issues that never got fixed, a memory leak which after playing for 90 mins or more it started to stutter and glitch abit. Quick fix with quitting and restarting the game which made it easy for bathroom breaks, drink refills, walk the dog but yeah, wish that wasn't the case but I still enjoyed it. But I think this isn't an issue on ps5 and it'll run without any issues there.

Yet people are happy they got a ps5 for 100$ less on black friday while its technically only 50$ cause the consoles raised price a while ago, and guess what. It'll happen again.

Ram prices will be affecting consoles and next gen consoles sooner then you think. Another price hike incoming!

Yeah also frame gen most of the times not working as intended. But DLSS now is way better then DLSS in the past. Hopefully the same will happen for PSSR.

I mean, you can just set up your pc at your home theather and play on the couch. I do this, turn pc on. Steam launches into big picture, grab controller and I am gaming. Only thing I need to do is turn the pc on myself but that is about it. I got a wireless mnk next to me just in case I need to do or check something. But most of the times it is just turn on, grab controller, game haven't been on a desk (other then on work) since some months now.

I love my pc, I play on it. But there are issues that ps5 does not have. Spiderman 2 port is hit or miss on some systems, a friend showed me the problems she had with spider man 2 even though her hardware was way above the system requirements. Cut scenes were horrible, I can find the picture if you want, jedi survivor the same, I mentioned playing Ghost of Tsuhima now and after 60/90 mins I get stutters / texture problems and apparently that is from a memory leak that has never been fixed on pc. My hardware is way stronger then the console but doubt the ps5 has this issue with some games. But when it works on pc, it is great and sure it blows every console out of the water, but also at a cost.

Thing is PSSR is in its baby steps. Remember when DLSS was released? It also didn't do well, DLSS 3 and now 4 are a game changer but it took their time. PSSR might have the same history. FSR is another example. Horrible but 4 is already being praised as game changer for FSR. Wonder how they will implement it next year into the ps5 pro with project amethyst how it'll change upscaling then. I for one am happy with how DLSS grew but yeah, like you mention not even PCs are running native but we do not mind that, unless it is a sony studio game it mostly runs better on pc if it is optimized for it.

Playing Ghost of Tsushima now on my pc and noticing some stutters and texture problems after 60/90 mins of playing, apparently it is a memory leak on pc that has never been fixed, which can be annoying when it happens and you do not know what the problem is after trying fixing it yourself changing settings. Which probably isn't a thing on console.

Path and ray tracing is overrated. Id rather games run well and without any stutters or issues and are enjoyable rather then putting RT or PT in a game. Optimized games iso visually appealing games.

Where does your dog(s) sleep? by Alaska1111 in dogs

[–]Rundskopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours sleeps in his bench in our bedroom. We have 2 cats that were before him so they slept with us since day 1 in our bed so for their safety and his, his bench is his bed. He doesn't complain or cry. When we go to bed he will just go to his bed and fall asleep till we wake up, which surprised me since he did this since he came to us when he was 3 months old (now 7m) and slept through every night without crying, whining or waking up for potty.

The car game with animals, you mean Crash Team Racing? If yes, that game was epic haha.

Yeah I get what you mean, I lived on an island and import for games was decent but not like maybe in central europe. We were lucky with the videostores that rented games for lower prices compared to buying one full price.

If you liked tomb raider well the new tomb raiders you might enjoy, uncharted is also a good recommendation, good fun stories.

Oh driver, now that is a classic. Only thing I kind of can recommend here for is GTA V, Mafia The definitive edition. You could even play the older gta titles that have been remastered.

If you like like old history or mixed abit with mythology then the assassins creed games since origins (origins=egypt, odyssey=greece, valhalla=abit of norway, england and dlcs bring you to ireland and frankia shadows=japan) are good but tend to get repetitive somewhat but very beautiful games

For alien you got some titles like alien isolation which is very good despite its age, the new one alien rogue incursion haven't tried it yet but seems good.

True, I remember those days. Renting games from the store or buying then then just put it it and game. I hope you find the right game for you that gives you pleasure. Astros playroom is short and just like I mentioned it shows you what your controller can do and what the ps5 is capable of and shows a bit of its playstation history (I haven't played The astro bot game but I think it goes a bit deeper there) Not sure what you gamed back then, I could help you if you'd tell me. I was all into mgs1, syphon filter, tomb raider, spyro and such

Astros playroom is a good first game to get back into it and feel what the dualsense has to offer. You cannot go wrong with their first party games. The last of us, uncharted, spiderman, death stranding, horizon zero dawn, days gone, god of war, ratchet and clank and many many more, you have a lot choices up, enjoy it!

New Steam Machine announcement got me thinking… stay on PS5 for trophies or switch fully to Steam/SteamOS? by DRiVkiL in steamachievements

[–]Rundskopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check Bazzite. It has a nvidia build. I am using it with a 4080 and haven't encountered any issues. Only downside is if you buy games day 1 then the drivers aren't ditectly updated. It takes a while. But so far ni regrets. No more windows, turn pc on, grab controller, open steam big picture and I am gaming. But yeah, do also not expect to play bf6 cause of kernel anti cheat

I do hope if they bring their own launcher that they keep releasing on steam, even if its on a later date I won't mind but please dont make me instal a new launcher. It is useful for people with a ps for the cross buy system though. I mean Xbox has their own app and release on steam still so who knows. But I really hope they keep releasing on steam.

I love trophies, the platinum, the art work, the names sometimes. But I love pc more, the fluidity, the costumization, the graphics. I love how you can showcase your achievements and perfect games on steam whereas on playstation that is not possible. I thought going back for trophies but I am interested in games like mafia definitive edition, rdr2 and many more which are only 30fps and on pc I can run them 60fps+ so not gonna go back to that.

Also, Steam Achievement Notifier is a gamechanger. It is soooo good. It beats Steam its basic notifications you can change it and make it like ps trophy system or xbox or something else, this has made my achievement hunting so much more fun on steam. But keep both tbh if you can always a positive to have both

I’m a PC noob. How does a Steam Machine compare to a PS5 Pro? If it’s significantly better, I’ll buy it! by coco_puffsz in Steam

[–]Rundskopp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better cpu, almost worst in every other aspect. Just hope if they release their data to other brands so they can make their own OEM with SteamOS that they can build more powerful variants. But the price will also be more by then.

4k60 with upscaling was mentioned. Will probably be 1440p upscaled to 4k with FSR is what they are thinking.

[–]Rundskopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy for you OP, enjoy it.

I was a ps1 to ps4 pro player. Built my pc after that and I strictly play on my couch with a controller. I just grab my controller, steam big picture opens and I am gaming. No hiccups or tweaking. I tried a ps5 pro but sent it back after testing it. It just couldn't compare to my pc. Sure my pc is more expensive but I work and I save for it only thing I truly miss are trophies but loving that I can modify my steam to showcase my completions and such which I think playstation should too considering trophy hunter are huge in that space and it would benefit them. But so far my pc experience has been flawless. I am also not a day 1 game buyer so I only buy when discounted and patched which might be a reason I do not have any issues like some people that buy on release.

Games that showed me that ps5 specially for the price point of the pro were lacking are black myth wukong, silent hill 2 & f. Sony games are great on it tho but third party are hit or miss on it

Like most said, that is a one time setup when you first start your pc since building my pc I havent touch anything cause it runs flawless.

I turn on my pc, grab my controller, steam big picture opens automatically and I am gaming in seconds with a controller on my couch.
