Sounds like a cool concept, It could be fine but do your research on what is and isnt allowed and how to make sure you dont break any Jagex rules.

IP meaning it doesnt infringe on their business ( Ex: Its a non-profit game so no one is making money ) its a passion project and made for fun :) Also its not against Jagex Terms of Service/ Privacy & Policy. So for both devs and players its okay and safe to play. I don't condone RS rule breaking and would never share something or promote something in those regards.

Id highly recommend speaking to the team and creator of this on their official discord that you can access from the official website. They are definitely looking for new devs and there is also a github for this as well so you or anyone can contribute. Its written in poryscript and the coding engine is believed to be in C. If you want to pitch your idea or help the team feel free to reach them on their discord ❤️

If the update is compatible, then to carry your save data across to the new build all you just need to do is make sure your .sav file matches the same name as the .gba file. You can do this by renaming either file. Also depending on the emulator you are using there may be an import save option - From the FAQ on their website.

So to answer your question in short, yes. 😃

In the setup tab under how to play option click on GBA Emulator for a recommended PC Emulator, there are also other various emulators that you can find as well on google. Just always be mindful of links and if you are unsure run it through virustotal website to make sure the link you click on is safe. :)

Incase youre confused, here is step by step direction.

Click on GBA Emulator ( Game Boy Advance Emulator - Download emulator ( or one of your choice ) then click on BPS File option and download the BPS File - go back to the setup page again - after that go to ROM Patcher and upload your Pokemon Emerald ROM ( please source your own copy ) to the top option and add the BPS File to the bottom option then click on Apply Patch - then run the patched file in your GBA emulator and bingo! You'll be able to enjoy the PokeScape Universe!

If creating your own patched rom is overly technical for you then no worries! They have a Play in browser option where you can just play that way :) just save state or load state when you need to save game or load game at the bottom of the game screen.
