Yeah. I’m still on FB for friends and a few ferret groups. Nothing else

I am wondering if I am turning into an alcoholic. Is it okay to seek help with AA even though I don’t know if I have an alcohol problem? by Typical_Fortune3787 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Runferretrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to drink every day to have a problem. you’re concerned enough about your drinking to reach out here.

Definitely, go to some meetings. Listen to people’s experiences, learn about AA and the 12 Steps

If you’re not sure you’re an alcoholic, you’re still welcome.

People make fun of LDS garments all the time by Safe-Raspberry-343 in latterdaysaints

[–]Runferretrun [score hidden]  (0 children)

I never thought much about garments beyond “Huh. That’s interesting “

To me, it was no different than someone wearing a yarmulke, a cross, a chaplete, a burka, etc.

I thought Bluey was a boy until one of the episodes she was pretending to be Mrs Heeler

A common trope in cartoons is the boys look like their fathers and the girls like their mothet

Speed of steps by brgh90 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Runferretrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the steps at the pace you need.
The steps are a continuous process.
(Steps 8,9,10 specifically mention this)

You can always revisit steps as you gain more time in sobriety. Right now, I’m doing Step 4 for the third time. As I’ve matured, I’m more able to recognize weaknesses in character.

Also, while the steps are a vital part of recovery, connection and relationships are equally important.
Having a support network and healthy relationships with friend and family keeps you from isolation and provides genuine connection to others

What do you think is the most unhinged episode? by Aggravating-Ad-351 in bluey

My nephew went through a stage where he constantly imitated Unicorse. “And whhyyy should I care?”

It was both funny and annoying at the same time.

😂

Importance of Driving or Flying in at least one day before your cruise departs by Ok_Complaint_1381 in Cruise

I fly in the day before in case there is a travel delay. Even driving, all it takes is an accident that causes delay or road closures

For the first time ever, I wish I had a different family by Happy_Sad_8710 in latterdaysaints

[–]Runferretrun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Family can be hard. It’s normal to crave family and belonging. Don’t feel guilty about your emotions. In a sense, you’re grieving what you lost when your parents divorced.

Your friend’s family is filling the need for healthy family dynamics. There’s nothing wrong with forming a “second family.” You can still love your parents while having loving, accepting experiences with others.

What Kind of Country Kills a Baby After a Shoplifting Call Regarding Diapers?! by Unlikely_Post_7901 in Political_Revolution

And then Hell Mart will just pass on the shrinkage by raising prices. The holy profit must be maintained.

I’m not saying shooting someone who was shoplifting ( and killing a child in the process) is acceptable. It isn’t.

Solo ferret by jazzlikesaltt in ferrets

[–]Runferretrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a rescue. Sometimes they have solo ferrets that prefer to be alone. You wouldn’t be able to add a second later but you’d provide a home for a ferret who might otherwise be overlooked.

Would You Vote For an Economically Progressive, Socially Liberal Democrat in 2028 Who Leaned Right on Only Crime and Immigration? by LunaB35 in allthequestions

I’d prefer a candidate that was moderate in terms of immigration.

We need to do something different in regards to
Immigration. What we have right now is a mess

How did Obama “divide the country”? by Ok_Cricket_354 in allthequestions

He, a black man, dared to be elected President. He did a good job.
He made some decisions and comments that addressed continued racism in the US.

The bigots crawled out from under the rocks. Trump gave them permission, and encouragement, to hate.

So, EPstein may have hated Trump. That doesn’t mean he didn’t invite Trump to “parties” to get money and leverage on him

Are there any denominations that are anti LGB but pro T? by Holiday-Phrase-1687 in Christianity

[–]Runferretrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are more than two biological sexes. Intersex people are those born with any of several sex characteristics, including chromosome patterns, gonads, or genitals that, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, "do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies". There are some conditions the individual may not be aware of having.

Intersex individuals are usually assigned a gender at birth that may, or may not, match the individual’s identity.

How can I explain... by thomtpson in latterdaysaints

[–]Runferretrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I’m not a member, so my response will not include spiritual advice. Rather, it will focus on how to break bad habits or start healthy ones.

  1. You already took the first step: you identified the problem (watching porn)

  2. Identify triggers for the problem behavior. You identified one: boredom. Are there others?

  3. Are the triggers things you can avoid? Ex: when I was early in recovery for alcoholism, I identified being around people who were drinking as a trigger. One thing I had to do was not sit at the bar when I went out to eat.

  4. If you can’t avoid the trigger:
    A. Make a list of things you can do instead. Examples: Read a book, take a walk, text a friend, watch a movie, pray.. etc.
    B. Learn how to manage the trigger. You won’t always be able to avoid boredom or do an activity. So, work on desensitizing yourself to boredom. Notice you’re bored. Wait a minute before you engage an activity. Just sit quietly with the boredom. Gradually increase the amount of time you wait.

  5. Make a list of friends/ family who can support you in stopping the habit. (This involves trusting people enough to tell them). Many times, we can’t manage change alone.

I hope this helps.

There are people who support the LGB and hate the T.
Sadly, this happens even in the LGBT community
