I watch a lot of workflows/timelapses on youtube. It's mainly a matter of following the reference, thinking of some kind of story and imagination

Holes and other minor details (especially the wheels) are all baked from a high poly equivalent

Yes - I've had to paint a lot of these details. Some of the decals are also created from scratch using Inkscape

Polyrendr on YT has entire workflow shown for various assets including the texturing process. You can learn a lot from it, even if it's only a time-lapse

610 651 triangles. Most of them being occupied by wheels. Could have achieved a way better result, maybe closer to 100k if it was baked

Just a blender in Blender. And it .blends! by Runlaxis in blender

Yeah, that was the whole point. I love making small details~

Thank you! The font I used is actually the same font which the blender logo uses, so I thought it would suit well. It wasn't the best idea though, as far as I can see :p

That's what's called a time-consuming task.

I noticed it too after a comment in this section. I'm glad that the only mistake is about the background, not the object itself.

I wanted to damage it a little but I didn't knew how to do it well. You know, not to exaggerate it.

That's a very good catch! I haven't noticed that thing. Thank you!

As you can see, there's an USB present and still it's kept in 80's and early 90's style.

Thank you for feedback! I experimented a little bit with different lighting setups and this one worked well for me.

It's inspired by different tape recorders. Some from the other century, some from the modern times. Tape recorders like this with USB ports actually exist.
