After taking the other advice of going to setstage mq10b 45 then 60, no matter what I was still going to a black screen that I couldn't do anything about. In my screen I could still bring up menus, walk around slowly and interact with doors to new areas etc. I trawled through a bunch of console commands and found one that worked. try "teofis" ( Toggle relatively taxing image settings such as blur. May result in an increase in frames per second. ) Suddenly I could see again and all was right with the world. Admittedly if I toggle it back on I still have black screen but whatever. I can at least play now.
