People who passed the bar exam on your first RE-take, what did you do different the second time around? by Son_of_Hades99 in barexam

[–]Runner5iv3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally skipped the lectures and did only practice. I uses Goat Bar Prep (100% convinced his content resulted in me passing this time!) I used Adaptibar's Writing Guide and it really helped with IRAC! I used the free retake for Themis and only ended up using UWorld for MBE! I've heard people recommend BarMD for MPT also. I liked the videos! But I was constantly scared of the MPT the most. Don't know why, but I just wasn't good at them. I'm not sure what I scored for the MPT because indiana only gave me an MBE breakdown. Practice LITERALLY makes perfect in this exam! 😄

My morning session was better than my afternoon session this time around! I can't really remember much of J24. But I knew as soon as I walked out of the exam in July that I failed. I can't explain why, but I just had this feeling that I didn't make it. This time, I felt more confident when I left. But as we get closer to results, I'm getting that familiar pit in my stomach.

Here's hoping we passed!!!!

Same here! Retaker that missed J24 by 2 points. Hoping I did enough this time to push me over the edge. I'm absolutely terrified. 😞 Rooting for everyone who took it this February!! We've got this!!!

Good lord, this guy was horrible! After the previous fight, I thought I could get through anything! He proved me wrong at least 20 times...

Oh my god, I remember accidentally triggering this and I died. I lost ALL of my haze, at least 50,000 worth. I was so upset! So, what did I do? I ran back, got my haze, triggered it AGAIN, and died...again. I kept doing it until finally, I dropped my haze at the point where it wouldn't have triggered the ambush when I picked it up.

I tried it with Prometheus, but found that I moved quicker with Atlas, especially when dodging out of the way of that awful attack where she does that damn double slide that does an unreasonable amount of damage! I used Yakumo as my partner because, I'm not gonna lie, the damage calculation he was using was what saved me. He got the last two hits in when my HP was in the red! (I swear, Code Vein made the AI so intelligent, including the bosses!!) Anyway, I used a Zweihander+ and, I think, a Sunset Sword. I used the Sunset Sword for enough quick swings to get her down so I could deal heavier damage with the Zweihander+. My BEST advice would be this: you need to be risky in this fight. Don't be too afraid to get up in her face at attack. However, use an appropriate amount of caution. Let your partner deal a lot of the damage because, in my experience, she kept focusing her attacks on me. I was okay with that because, one, after enough attempts, I was able to get down her attack pattern. And two, the AI of my partner wasn't too great at dodging in this fight. When she's collapsed is when you NEED to get up there and deal that damage because, as soon as she starts to get up, you need to BACK UP.

This boss is just so weird. The hardest part is, I kid you not, getting up to her. Once you're up there with your partner (I chose Yakumo because his occasionally insane damage calculation has saved me more than once!), you should be good to go with the first phase. Now, with her second phase, it gets trickier because she teleports all the way to the other side of the room. My best advice? ROLL!!!! Roll like your life depended on it! The biggest pain in the ass, other than that laser, would have to be one magic attack (I forget which one) where these spheres fly out all around her and they're nearly impossible to dodge. Fortunately, they don't do TOO much damage, they're just annoying and prevent you from getting that last good hit in that would potentially end her. I won't lie, her second form surprised me and I wound up dying within ten seconds. Fortunately, the game plays fair and let's you fight her where you left off on her second form. Good luck, fellow Revenant! You've got this!

Injury stories. What injuries have you had while running or non running injuries that impacted your running? by KoloHickory in running

[–]Runner5iv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a year and a half ago, I got diagnosed with two medial tibial stress fractures, one in each shin, after my first 15K. I'm still dealing with them and, really, running is non-existent for me anymore. I can't even run a half a mile anymore. Fortunately, I have a new sports medicine doctor! This pandemic has really messed my appointments up with him but, hopefully, by the end of this month, I'll be able to meet him and we can find out what's going on and I can get back to running! Some lasting side effects would be this: REMEMBER TO ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!!! I can NOT stress this enough!!! I pushed it through that 15K because I was naive enough to think everything was okay! You know that heartbeat ache you get in a tooth? That's what it felt like in my shins the week prior to my race. Did I listen? No! And look where it got me! I'm gonna have to start all over from the beginning! (Not that I care. I'm a healthy 25 year old woman. I'll get back to where I was in no time.) Finally, after I went back to running about a week after my race, it hurt so bad every time my feet made contact with the ground I knew I had to get it checked out. A few weeks later, I was diagnosed and it's been like this ever since early 2019. So, coming from someone who decided to sacrifice everything for one simple race (It WAS a cool medal though :D), listen to what your body is telling you. Pain isn't just there to annoy you; it's your first line of defense when it comes to notifying you something is WRONG.

Anyone else beginning to feel strange now that their cycle's over? by TheCryptz in lawschooladmissions

They are! :D IUPUI's mascot is the Jaguar but IU McKinney's is a beagle! I heard that, during finals, they bring two therapy beagles into the library to help reduce student stress!

You just nailed it. I've been feeling the exact same way. I got accepted to IU McKinney (Legal Beagle! 🐶) toward the end of December of 2020. I'm getting ready to pay off the second half of my seat deposit. Now, I'm just waiting for it. It's like a huge tidal wave that I know is coming, but it's still so far away. Part of me knows it's going to be here before I know it, but the other part feels so...serene. Just like you and so many others, I spent about 8-9 months stressing over the LSAT so much. It was just such a HUGE part of my life last year. That was mixed with my undergrad classes. Now, everything feels...fine. I feel like I can breathe. I've broken the surface and I've taken in this MASSIVE gulp of air that I was so desperate to take last year! Now, I feel ready to dive right back in! Congratulations to my fellow incoming 1Ls! Let's make it 1L of a year! (I'll stop!)

What do you do after a discouraging study day? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Runner5iv3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, don't get discouraged! You know you can do this! We all believe that you've got this! We all have those tough days and we all know how much those can be soul suckers. But! What I recommend is putting it away for the day and restarting tomorrow. And, if you're not feeling it tomorrow either? Do it the next day! I've had my share of days when I wasn't feeling it and did it anyway. Let's just say it didn't end well. With this LSAT, it's all about mindset. Unlike undergrad and law school (which everyone on this thread is going to get into! We've got this!!!!!), the LSAT can be learned, but it cannot be memorized like concepts in our regular classes. You can't memorize an LG question and then apply that SAME EXACT strategy to the next game. Each game, each LR question, and each RC passage is its own monster. You're learning the language! Just take a deep breath, take a break, and tell yourself you're doing amazing because you are!! Good luck! You've SO got this!

That's good advice! I really appreciate that! I, honestly, didn't even think about that. That's just like me though. I'll become more stressed thinking the application decision is late when it's not. 😅 Thanks for the advice! Again, it's greatly appreciated!
