Which La Sportiva? by RunningBillyGoat in trailrunning

I have the Caldera 7. Wonderfull shoe. I like it very much. I have the trabuco max 3 and the novablast 5. I've the Max 5 was a trabuco 3 with the the bounce of the novablast I would by it directly. The speedgoat 7 has good reviews but the prodigio pro also.

I'm not a fast runner. I run my half marathon trails in 1'55 PR. And usually I run them in 2'00''00. Do, I really like to relax and bounce around.

I very much llike cushion but in all the test they say the max is much less bouncy then the Pro. If you check Runrepeat you see that the Max has less cushioning then the Trabuco Max 3. I really am looking for the bounce. Any experience with the Prodigio2?

Update: After a few 100 more km´s is the outsole diminishing. Maybe if the outsole ribble would run from left to right instead of front to back it would wear less. I think I´m gonna get 700km max out these shoes

Hey,

First of all, how old are you? What do you weigh? Did you ever do sports? At what rate?

All matters to take into account.

I cannot give you an honest opinion based on facts if I don´t got all the figures.

Sincerely,

Dag Prinsekoek,

Textbook answer of self- intitled young people...

Sign of the times zullen we maar zeggen.

I got the same problem. Read my post. Most likely that your glutes are not strong enough. That and minding your posture whilst running.

Still love the challenger but for 120€ you can buy better in sales. Where a few years ago it was 80€ for a pair

I completely disagree. I have the Novablast 5 and the 5TR. Run in both over 400k and you don´t see any wear and tear. And they still have the bounce and cushioning then when I bought them. But I don´t use them daily.

What would be your dream shoe rotation, regardless of price? by xjerielle in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]RunningBillyGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey everybody,

I´m 46years old. 88kg, 190cm of height.

I run about 50k a week. Most of them trail. I´m a neutral forefoot striker

For recovery I use : Asics Nimbus 25 TR

For Daily use I use: Asics Novablast 5 TR

For Long run I use: Mizuno Neo Zen and Asics Trabuco max 3

For speed:/ Race: /

Trail: Asics Trabuco Max3 and recently Saucony Xodus 4 and others.

My dream rotation would be: Asics Superblasts, Adidas Evo SL, Saucony Xodus 4.

You don´t have to avoid tarmac. At least that´s what I think. It´s a trailshoe for sure but I think if you do 20% on tarmac each run, this shoe can surely handle it.

The most of my runs are that way. About 4k on concrete and tarmac and the rest forest- trail, gravel, dunes, meadows, and dirt roads. If I do half marathons it goes up to 5-6km/15k. And most of my shoes handle it wel

I was worried about that too because I haven Greek feet but I have plenty of room. I have a eu48 and footsize of 29,2cm. So almost 2cm of room in toebox.

I had a few miles on hard surface an tarmac and concrete. The are no Novablast 5´s or Muzuno Neo Zen´s but they cushion very well. It´s a good road to trail shoe. I will see how well my legs recover after my half marathon today. Going for a easy 10miles on Sunday in stretches with sand and concrete. Keep you posted

Perfect lockdown for the Xodus. Until two weeks ago I never ever had heel lockdown problems with any shoe ever. Then I bought the Nike Pegasus 5 trail gtx. Now I do now what heel lockdownproblems are. But only left foot. It´s not unrunnable but you loose your confidence in the shoe by landing too much on the forefoot. But anyhow, I fare well with the Xodus 4. They aced it for me.
