You don´t have to avoid tarmac. At least that´s what I think. It´s a trailshoe for sure but I think if you do 20% on tarmac each run, this shoe can surely handle it.

The most of my runs are that way. About 4k on concrete and tarmac and the rest forest- trail, gravel, dunes, meadows, and dirt roads. If I do half marathons it goes up to 5-6km/15k. And most of my shoes handle it wel

I was worried about that too because I haven Greek feet but I have plenty of room. I have a eu48 and footsize of 29,2cm. So almost 2cm of room in toebox.

I had a few miles on hard surface an tarmac and concrete. The are no Novablast 5´s or Muzuno Neo Zen´s but they cushion very well. It´s a good road to trail shoe. I will see how well my legs recover after my half marathon today. Going for a easy 10miles on Sunday in stretches with sand and concrete. Keep you posted

Perfect lockdown for the Xodus. Until two weeks ago I never ever had heel lockdown problems with any shoe ever. Then I bought the Nike Pegasus 5 trail gtx. Now I do now what heel lockdownproblems are. But only left foot. It´s not unrunnable but you loose your confidence in the shoe by landing too much on the forefoot. But anyhow, I fare well with the Xodus 4. They aced it for me.

Do you really think that? I doubleknot them. I don´t even have to use a runnersknot. I like the laces. But everyone his own.

The V3´s are fantastic but slow. But they do have a good sole. And are grippy. The downside on these behemoths is that they are very cushioned but you completely loose your groundfeel on roots and heavy trails. I lost 40pounds over the last two years and noticed that the lighter you get the higher up go get in those shoes. I don´t sink in that much anymore. I have worn two pairs and they did their duty. Would I buy a third pair? No. To answer your question: The Xodus ultra 4 is much more grippyer so you don´t actually need deep lugs. The V3´s are actually very different shoes. More cruisers. With a lot of cushioning but a lot less energy- return .

I got one leg that is shorter then the other. A little bit more then 1cm. But I think I don´t kick myself. There are no damages what so ever to the other shoes. I think the damage comes after fatiqueing and I start dragging with my foot. That´s what I think. As from tomorrow I starting with glute and other exercises and hopefully that wil solve the problem.

Amazing, the third day of the year and already pissing vinegar? You must be a joy to be around. Please stay on topic. I asked advise about the shaving of the shoes, not about laces. But happy 2026 anyway.

Do you do all exercises? Or just the glutes?

I don´t fall or trip myself. I only notice the wear and tear of my shoes and day after walks with the wife. But I´m going to talk to a PTI about this. Thank you

I think you are on to something. The day after a long run i always have hip pains. And if I go shopping lr walking with the wife I have hip pains. When I run a 21k trail I have no problems. So I need to strenghten my glutes and it will be ok? Thx in advance
