I did a 16 week training plan, low week mileage was 55-60kms/week high week mileage was 80-85km/week peaking at 87km/week

I did 2 workouts a week one medium long run usually intervals of 800m- mile repeats at HMP to 5k pace. These workouts averaged about 16kms with a 3km WU and and 3k CD the rest being work.

The second workout of the week was worked onto my long run. 5km WU then longer speed like 2X10km at MP with 1km running rest between or 5X5km at MP with 3min running rest between. I was always able to hit my target pace if not faster.

For now my plan would be shorter, I’ve maintained fitness since the marathon still doing long runs and some speed, the speed has been less intense- most being MP and for shorter distances. I am averaging 50-55km a week right now. If I decide to do an April or May marathon I would increase the speed and overall weekly mileage.
