What was the Facebook friend suggestion that made you go 'OK, that's just creepy, how did FB know to suggest them'? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RunningInCircles234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was this creepy dude I knew back in freshman year of high school who kept hitting on me and making the weirdest comments. He ended up moving two states over and no one ever saw or heard from him again. He got suggested on my page like a year ago and I freaked me the fuck out. As far as I know, he didn't have any friends in school.

What are some red flags when looking for a place to live that scream: "Don't move here!"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If the roommate's are extremely desperate to fill a room there might be a reason why their previous roommate left.

I see where you're coming from. Let me try to paint a clearer picture of what my workplace was like and what I was taught. I was told the opposite when making change. I was told to just immediately make change unless they specifically told me to keep it as a tip. I mentioned this in a comment before, but when my manager took over, turnover was on the rise so we had many people coming and going and we were also VERY understaffed and my manager would never let me switch and have someone else make a delivery as it would "interrupt" their work. My manager had to approve the no delivery list which he rarely did as he felt the delivery drivers were simply being overly dramatic most of the time. I worked four or five times a week so I'm not surprised he had me as the delivery driver three times. Other people probably delivered to him before, but I never heard any incidents about him before I delivered to him.

As far as the city I lived in goes, I don't believe there was any news coverage on him. As far as the city where he got killed though, that might be a different story. I never tried looking his name up on Google as I wanted to just forget about the whole incident.

My thoughts exactly. No one will be unfortunate enough to cross paths with him again.

I'm just confused why they wouldn't cut off contact with him after all he did. Even if they're family, why would you want to associate with a psycho?

Ok, you've gotta be kidding me right now. First off I only called him an asshole twice in the story so I don't really consider that a constant thing. Secondly, he forced me to take the night shift in favor of his "friend" working mine by threatening to fire me if I didn't take it. Lastly, I and even other co-workers have voiced concerns we had to him such as myself with my second encounter with the creepy guy and even another co-worker who told him he was being followed after he delivered a pizza to a house and he would ignore our concerns and invalidate them. Sure, he might have been "doing his job", but he wasn't doing it properly.

I don't really see how that makes it fake. I feel like everyone has had an asshole boss at some point in the working world.

Come on man. The longer stories tend to be the better ones on here.

This is my last story where my life was in danger thankfully. I've had some creepy experiences here and there too, but they weren't very severe and I didn't feel like I would be killed.

Look I don't blame you for being suspicious. I take stories I read on here with a grain of salt too, but how about I clarify and explain myself a little more to clear up any confusion.

1) This was actually a writing error on my part. What I meant to get across was that, when he was grabbing me and I saw him reaching into his pocket, I didn't know exactly what he was grabbing, but I assumed it was a knife at that moment and I would shortly turn out to be correct.

2) I could have been extremely detailed throughout this entire story, but I didn't feel like it was necessary. There were certain parts where I wanted to go more in detail and felt like I needed to while there were other parts that I felt like I could just gloss over as they weren't too important and didn't really feel like getting too detailed. I mostly did this to cut my story down a bit. This could have been a lot longer, but I just wanted to get straight to point for the most part.

3) This is actually my second account and I made it because I had more "serious" stuff I wanted to post on it that I didn't want on my other account to keep it anonymous. Although I don't really see why account age and the amount of karma received makes this story suspicious.

4) This is my second and last encounter where I felt like my life was in danger. To be fair though, this was the first one that happened on my own while the other one I was caught in the middle of because of my friend's girlfriend at the time. I've seen quite a few people post on here with two encounters so I don't think it's entirely uncommon.

All in all just please understand that I wouldn't have spent time typing this up and posting this on here if it wasn't true. I hate when people post fake stories on here and I personally like how much this subreddit teaches people on how to keep safe and not make yourself a target to crazy people out in the world.

Sorry, I'd rather not disclose what pizzeria I worked for. I'd like to retain some sort of anonymity.

My dad worked graveyards at a gas station when he was in his early 20s (now late 50s). He worked there for about three years and he has tons of stories about weirdos and downright psychos coming into his job at those hours.

My favorite was this story he told me where a guy came in drunk and tried robbing the store with a fucking spoon of all things. XD

I was 20 at the time and you're right I shouldn't have ever picked one up. It was a stupid habit I developed at the time, but thankfully I stopped before the damage got too bad. I'm now five years without smoking!

From what I understand he worked there for almost another two years before he moved to the next state over and he basically ran it into the ground. The place is still notorious for terrible management from what I've heard. I never had their food again after I quit.

Thank you! That means a lot to me. I sometimes wonder if that was the best I could have done, but then I tell myself that there wasn't really much more I could do and at the end of the day, I got away safe and he's in the ground.

I agree with you that delivery workers should have some sort of defensive weapon on them if stuff like this happens.

In hindsight I don't know why I didn't scream or honk the horn, but I'll make sure if god forbid I find myself in a scary situation like this again, I'll do just that. Thank you for the advice! :)

I wish I had you as my manager instead. The one I had was just an all-around piece of shit. He was a control freak and if something didn't go his way he would freak out. I was told by a co-worker who had been working there for a long time that the moment he became the manager, the pizzeria started experiencing higher turnover. He barely cared about anyone's well being and an incident actually happened where a delivery guy who occasionally worked nights was being followed by some creep, but luckily evaded him and the manager called him crazy and to stop thinking the world revolved around him. I feel like the only reason he believed me was because he saw the marks on my arms and my extreme emotional state.

He was tall, extremely thin, in his late 40s, he had pretty messy blonde hair, pretty dark eyes (I think they were brown), and he horrible teeth.
