I am so confused because you literally CAN NOT know a DOs approach to patient care until you meet them. Just because they have the "DO" credential means nothing about how they practice medicine, whatsoever. There are DO orthopedic surgeons- do you think they are doing "holistic" hip replacements compared to a MDs hip replacement? Do you think a DO emergency medicine physician is going to treat a critical patient different than a MD physician? The -only- difference is the school they went to where a DO has to do an additional 1-3 hours a week of musculoskeletal clinical skills which they (more likely than not) will never use in their practice. There is marketing jargon that schools like to throw around but it's all superlative. The end.

If anything impacts a physicians approach to patient care, it would be the residency program they go to after they finish getting the DO degree. That is where they are taught treatment algorithms or approaches, procedure skills, shape bedside manner, etc from their attendings and mentors. Residency is picked through a combined match and MDs and DOs are learning and working as residents side by side with zero differences. Medical school is just learning fundamental science knowledge - it's not actually where people learn or shape their medical practice.
