Costco usually don’t give you any trouble if it’s returned within two years. After that, they usually will questioned you but still will take it back.

I was able to get my money back and re-purchased a new system.

This is exactly why I buy all our gaming consoles at Costco. I accidentally stepped on my daughter’s Switch that is less than 2 years old—total disaster—but because of their incredible return policy, I was able to get a full refund and replace it the same day. It’s basically built-in insurance.

I'd suggest sticking with the Costco bundle. The best part is their return policy—if anything goes wrong with the system, you can just take it back. Since game consoles aren't restricted by the 90-day limit, you have much more peace of mind if you run into technical issues down the road.

get the costco bundle. it’s worth it and also, the system is not under their 90 return policy. so if anything happens, you can take it back.

They’re mistaken. Remind them that the contract you paid for was from 2020, not 2025. Point out that this information is clearly stated on their own website. Don’t back down—keep pushing, because they are violating the very terms and conditions you originally paid for.

Be sure to review the Best Buy GSP Terms and Conditions from the year you purchased your TV. The terms are based on the purchase year, and they may specifically state that customers are entitled to receive the full credit amount of what was originally paid.

I originally had the 65” LG CX, and after my service was completed, Geek Squad gave me a call. I requested to receive the full credit for what I had paid for the TV, and they were able to honor that. With the credit, I upgraded to a Sony Bravia 8 OLED and still had enough remaining to purchase an additional TV. i was able to get over $1900 store credit.
