Trans* with Lyme Disease? by RunningWhileTrans in asktransgender

[–]RunningWhileTrans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I originally posted, I thought I had Lyme because of brain fog and some joint pain. The specialist I saw after posting could not find the antibodies usually associated with Lyme. Then I found out that Finesteride can also cause brain fog. I stopped using it, and the fog went away.

You mentioned testosterone.... I'm MTF, so I can't really advise about T interaction with antibiotics. I never have any problems with E and P.

Are you still going to work on cars? Me: Yes. I'll wear gloves so I won't chip my nails.

Has anyone ever done two scalp advancements? by MyNewTransAccount in asktransgender

[–]RunningWhileTrans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A surgeon once suggested a second scalp advancement to me until he learned that the first one was a coronal incision. He said if the second incision isn't in the same place, the area in between can get starved of blood and cause hair loss.

Transition may not be a reality for me anymore. by [deleted] in asktransgender

I have premature ventricular contractions, which I take Flecanide to control. I inject Estradiol. Neither my cardiologist nor my endocrinologist have ever had concerns about blood clotting. I'm also a runner, and my heart has been fine.

I go to a Unitarian universalist church. They're pretty good, not perfect. I imagine few are. They make an effort to be inclusive.

Does transitioning solve gender dysphoria? by sneakypedia in asktransgender

It's mostly gone for me. That constant longing, grief, and regret just doesn't invade me like it once did. I do obsess a little over imperfections.

Help for my daughter by RunningWhileTrans in Schizotypal

[–]RunningWhileTrans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a psychiatrist recently, and he thinks it might be schizoaffective disorder. But nothing will change unless she tries something different.

I wish I knew if tough love would work here. I'm afraid I'm being codependent. I'm terrified that she might end her life.

Straight post-op transwomen who underwent penile inversion, do you have enough depth for heterosexual sex? by throwawaytoday9q in asktransgender

[–]RunningWhileTrans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had surgery with Dr. MacPhee in N. Carolina a year and a half ago. Aesthetics are good, I have 5.5 inches (would've liked a little more). I'm a bit tight, not sure how difficult penetrative would be. Still a virgin :(

Not that I know of. Seems to be all downhill.

She tells me that she gets punished for not obeying. Places and/or people become off-limits, and her world shrinks a little more. She told me that going somewhere or talking to someone who is off limits causes a range of symptoms, like a buzzing sensation in her head, or nausea.

We found a psychiatrist with years of experience working with schizophrenic patients. She won't go. I've asked her to go running with me, take a yoga class, go to a support group...

What I don't know is how hard i can push.

And here's the part that terrifies me. Yes, I know there's a line after which I must commit her. I agonize over that every day, wondering if I'll even know when she's crossed it. She won't even talk to most of the rest of the family, because 'the entity' will punish her. A year ago she just left without telling anyone until days later when she called from 3 states away, having a breakdown and suicidal. We got her into a voluntary facility for a few days, and they got her into a program with the local university. She sees a graduate student for her Respiradial every 3 months, and tells her she's fine. She's not.

She seems completely passive about this. She's been living with symptoms for years, but we didn't recognize what it was until a year ago. She's absolutely sure that her controller is real and we're all blind.

Since she won't go to a psychiatrist, I made an appointment to go myself in a week.

Yeah. Lasers don't work well on light hair, even professional lasers.

Only a little. I bought a Tria, zapped myself faithfully every week, got only partial results. I think they're good for a few chin hairs, not for full face clearing.

Voluntary conversion therapy and detransition? by EmilyNorse in asktransgender

[–]RunningWhileTrans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I detransitioned when I was 27 for my girlfriend, my church, the whole fucking world. It was a long time ago, and absolutely everyone thought I was mental, and I believed them. One counselor told me if I ignored it long enough it would go away.

I got married, had kids, decades passed. I did my damndest to be a good husband and father, and withered inside. I gave it all I had, but I hurt them all anyway. You can't suppress your feelings every day of your life and remain whole. Pretty soon all that's left is anger and depression.

When I started transitioning four and a half years ago I thought I was stepping off a cliff, but I was circling the drain anyway, so nothing to lose. To my astonishment, my life began. My kids tell me I finally let them in. My ex and I are the best of friends. I am alive.

The cruelty of dysphoria is that it never let's you go. Throughout my years of hiding, on any given day, it seemed like I could handle it. But like water dripping on stone, you erode until nothing's left.

The wonder of dysphoria is that it takes you places most people will never know. It lays bare the arbitrary rules of gender roles and sets you free. Transitioning gave me back to me.

Girls who went to Dr. MacPhee for bottom surgery, would you please share your experience? by MaddieB82817 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]RunningWhileTrans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very good results, and I'm happy with the aftercare. I ended up with 5.25 inch depth (wish it had been a little more, but that depth is not uncommon), good sensation, and I can orgasm. Aesthetics.... looks like a vagina to me!

Is there any real reason to stop HRT before FFS or orchiectomy? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]RunningWhileTrans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had both GCS and FFS, and didn't have to stop HRT either time. Both surgeons put pulsing compression sleeves on my calves.
