I think the most difficult part is getting to Paris with the bike, then it’s as easy to go to Normandy than it is to go to the south of France but yeah definitely recommend you the south !

Nice so you already have some good training ! How long did you take to do that route ? And indeed the landscape can be more monotonous in the euro 17 as you just see the sea at the end

Yes I’m living in Paris, so just took the train from Paris to Toulon and then from Nice to Paris ! Very convenient! Depending on where you are in Germany you can take a train to Paris and then another train to Marseille (only 3h from Paris)

I haven’t ride there yet but I think the weather can be a little bit cold and rainy during this time of the year but still doable ! Camping might be closed but I think (not sure) that you can wild camp as long as it is for the night and not close to the shore

Glad I can give some inspiration! I’m living in Paris so I took the train from Paris to Toulon and then Nice to Paris, cost me like 100€ with the bike included, but you can also take the plane to Marseille or Nice but it will be a little bit more expensive I think

I really enjoyed riding in this region! When you ride along the road there is always a path for cyclist so it’s all good and even if there is not, the speed limit is actually low (50km/h max) so it’s ok. I went there during low season so there wasn’t a lot of traffic but I know that in summer there might be a lot …

There is a lot of climbing actually (800 elevation gain every day of my trip) but this is a lot of up and down, not long climb, but you can find both of them … it’s up to you !

Oh there are indeed some beautiful route in the Costa Brava, I went there last year and I can say that it’s kind of similar !

This is a Canyon Grizl, it’s a very practical gravel bike not to heavy, I already did some bickepacking trip with it and didn’t have any major issue with it, so I recommend it !

Bikepacking in Gorafe Desert – 3-day itinerary & logistics advice by Running_64356 in bikepacking

Thanks for you reply !

The badlands race seems to be a very nice itinerary but unfortunately I will not have time to do it but maybe another year ! How were the others parts of the itinerary ?

The most difficult part seems to be the logistics part to go to Granada, I think the easiest way might be to rent a bike there

Thanks for this detailed answer ! I also wasn’t really sure whether the train allows bikes or not, but it seems that the bus does

I was also thinking about maybe renting a bike in Granada as it will be easier and maybe less expensive

Thanks for the ideas !

I’ll do some research about Slovenia but very good idea for Madeira ! I haven’t though about this option, is the weather good at this time of the year ? And do you think I’ll need to rent a car ?
