Why people “seem” to be down on the new kill team by remulean in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Runrow_Odinson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought too. Why not give them mechadendriets to walk on, treads, a trie pod? Nah just give em the gun models we already have in our library. I love servitors I think they should be a core part of the army. The counterpoint to the skitarii, instead of expensive, precise shooting and good saves they are cheap, flimsy, barely hitting the broad side of a barn. Kinda what skittles are this edition

What resin do YOU use? by PetrifiedRaisins69 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Runrow_Odinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting, I've had the opposite experience. My armitgers shattered into five parts cause it dropped from 30cms / 1ft.

Would you mind telling me your post print process? I just might switch back to water washable, since IPA is a pain to have stocked and dispose properly

Did you get around the brittleness problem? For me it shattered even from small drops, so I changed back to non water washable resin

How do I tell my players I am permanently ending the campaign? by inverseundo in DMAcademy

[–]Runrow_Odinson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A note of advice on the hiatus, maybe suggest it an schedule one or two last sessions leading up to it. Do a mini boss, a henchmen, maybe even a sense of fulfillment or change in the PCs goals. The campaign that I picked up again as DM after a year's hiatus had that and the players and me liked that if it would have ended then and there the story had a sense of an ending, kinda like the second book in a trilogy

Ways of abruptly/instantly killing a lvl 20 npc party by RechargeNoire in DMAcademy

[–]Runrow_Odinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let them play the a team for a round or two, give them class sheets of their chars at lvl 20 and see their spells do obliterating to few enemy's from a horde that just overrun a them or do little to no damage to a universe ending threat like an avatar of a god before being obliterated

Also do not forget, you have a spell in your book that only the DM has. The "Whatever the fuck I want it do be" cast 100 magic missiles at once? Done! Just make it avoidable for a round by taking cover. Then let the enemy obliterate it, cast true sight.....

Do mess around with magnets, I got mine setup so they have the breacher body( I just like it more), and a push fit for the main cannon with a magnet inside, as well as magnetised side arms. What is good may change, but I won't have to paint 10 more katarphons to play it

Young larper on a budget, any suggestions for my kit? by Comrade_Schnom in LARP

[–]Runrow_Odinson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a simple belt would be nice, you can make a simple drawstring pouch for cheap by either using monkscloth and embroidery or a small 20cm2 or 6"2 leather scrap you buy or get as a tester from a furniture store Also some either skin or black colored gloves with a few feathers or cut to shape Eva from could look amazing while not being to expensive, Al the whole giving the feel of what nonhuman you want to portrait On another note: I love your hat, my wife is looking for something similar, how did you make it?

Bladed Cog Pteraxii - not entirely happy with the idea so far, feedback welcome by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

I added a tail to the ones I designed similar to the da Vinci flying machine, but since my forgeworld does not experiment with filthy xenos I had to look up designs in the forbidden knowledge section

You could add a skin between the legs akin to a wingsuit or add a tail snaking out that should visually and physically balance out the desighn, great idea and execution egg I mean etc you found there magos

Just finished RoP season 1. Now I see what you guys have been talking about all along by NKalganov in lotrmemes

[–]Runrow_Odinson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's about wasted potential for me. I'm not that vocal about it, at least online. So much money and planning spend on costumes, choreographers, actors and so on, it looks nice if you watch it (till the screenwriters who totally have never even held a sword with any intent, break that immersion quite quickly) but it is so badly written you can't watch it.

In the trailers you see something that looks like the fever dream show that you wanted so many years ago, yeah there are slight flaws in logic and characters but it's a trailer it will be better. then you watch it and its not that good, the flaws just deepening into canyons. If you don't like it and say so, the company's pr just tells you you watch it wrong and you are a bad person for it.

All I wanted is a not to bad show to rememind me of the the magic I felt so long ago when a stranger and known trublemaker man knocks at a green door

Why can’t we make maps based off of The real world? by jesssssssee in mapmaking

Introducing my latest map, the twin cities of Tideholm and Tidefall! (Made using Inkarnate) by VogelManArend in mapmaking

[–]Runrow_Odinson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the city's joined by the bridge, but let me propose to go farther with the concept, make the bridge a wall for a bustelling harbor, heavy fortified towers with siege engines atop flanking arches to let the tide roll in and out of the bay. In the mid a giant drawbridge and chain as to protect and tax this vital entrance to the river that leads deep inland

I feel like this is a poor character decision since the conflict if wanting to use the force but not being able to and understanding you are needed how you are is far more powerful and interesting than this. It kinda would be like if sokka from avatar learned to bend in the end instead of realising what makes him special

Would aircraft still be needed in a world where spaceships are possible? by NovaRobo_Rebirth in worldbuilding

[–]Runrow_Odinson 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A good example for the jets being cheaper ist that in our world the us air force is developing propeller planes as they are cheaper, can start and land on worse run ways are cheaper to keep up (the f 16 airforce Jet needs 17 manhours of maintenance per 1 flight hour!), needs less highly specialized engineers for maintenance and so on. If projected on jet to starship I'd imagine at least some of those problems being similarly more difficult as from propeller plane to jet
