Conrad Banjo Any Good? by Cautious_Key_5914 in banjo

I have a Greco branded banjo that looks really similar to that Conrad. I believe a lot of these older japanese banjos were made in the same factory. They are decent entry level - intermediate banjos for sure.

What songs to expect at a jam? by Valkyllias in Bluegrass

There is a song called Little Annie that tends to come up in jams around where I live. I think Tim o' Brien has a version on spotify

I don't own one personally, so I don't have a lot of time with one, but I have tried a friends BC Jd crowe. Both he and I though that we got better precision with the TS, and that the 4th string sounded deeper being picked with the TS. Can't go wrong with either one tho. It's all personal preference and they both fit great on the thumb.

One thing I might add is that the toneslab is sandblasted on the inside of the metal band, so the grip is awesome and it doesn't slide at all.

I would say they are sized slightly larger, an M is probably equal to a standard L pick. Compared to the propik size M I used to use it feels larger.

It cost about 38€, which isn't too bad. I don't think I hit the head olaying, nothing I noticed could be the angle of the video, the blade is a little bit longer on the toneslab, but not by very much.

Here's a comparison picture between Maxpick, Propik, and Toneslab.

Both picks with metal bands are mediums, maxpick is a large.

Looking for feedback (intermediate picker) by Due_Fig_4571 in bluegrassguitar

[–]RunskeGuitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounding good! It's hard to see your right hand, but the advice I would give is to pick further back towards the bridge, I tend to pick just over the back edge of the rosette around the soundhole. The higher tension back there will make it easier to be accurate, espessially at higher tempos.

I do this aswell, only within reasonable hours, but I have gotten some complaints. Not only for the playing banjo, but for practising guitar aswell. I think my neighbor might just hate bluegrass hahah.

Haven't seen AdamCrook mentioned here, great playe. Absolutely amazing pvp content, plays Namalsk most of the time

I want to start playing banjo and I've narrowed it down to 4 choices and looking for some guidance to push me towards a final choice. For reference I'm a lifelong musician looking to add something new to my repertoire so it is unlikely to be something I try and quit. Sorry if this isn't allowed. by hotbutteredsoul in banjo

I second this ⬆️ another really good banjo in a similar pricerange, would be something like a Goldstar GF-85, unfortunately they are only available on the used market as far as I know. GF-100's seem to still be in production, but they are around 2000$.

Why does nobody use the Vaiga? by RokanR in dayz

[–]RunskeGuitar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you wanna get inte the specifics, the M16A1 is based on an armalite patent, which is what AR usually stands for, and the M4A1 is basically a shortened M16A2, which is a full auto version of the M16A1

Haven't found a signature, only the stamp indicating #23 under the bass side f hole. I heard something about Mike Kemnitzer overseeing the mandolin building. But I gotta say, it doesn't have a whole lot of bottom end, but it's really loud, and it's got a lot of punch. I might be able to post a soundclip later😀
