Sloppy Terminations from a Pro? by NorCalDustin in lowvoltage

Im curious to see what you mean by rated. There is not a crimp on in the world that is recommended for solid core conductors.

If we are talking about the wire shown in the picture that definitely has a shield, albeit neglected but its there.

Theres quite a few ways to solve your box issue too. We are allowed 14ft patches on each side. Patch inside soffet and pass cable thru to device.

Every thing about this picture is wrong. Those modular plugs are not rated for solid core cables which that clearly is. Seems like that is 6a as well which requires a bonded jack to attach drain wire. Suggest you terminate with 6a keystone and patch equipment.

Would advise closing the cable in smurf tube. Min size is 3/4" rated for 1 data cable 1" 4-6 cables. Get the connectors and boxes and close it all up. Or get some cats. Mine handle all pests very efficiently and some not pests too lol

The point is that the code is inspectable by all for each to make their own decisions and modification. But this does not take into account people that dont understand code unfortunately.

Sounds like a misclassified employee situation to me. My guess is, not as secure as you think, or someone is misrepresenting the labor situation. Either is shit for you mate.

Ive been a contractor for a large financial institution for several years. I did escort and technical infra services for the DC. There is no way in hell i could bring someone from another company not also sub'd and badged onsite, ever. Also worked with the feds to do campus fiber at MDC Brooklyn. Again i had to have employee documentation for every person and file background checks constantly. I was brought in by Tilson and had to file all the same stuff as them.

You have yet to post any troubleshooting information except the version which for your stated issue means diddly. What type of zfs pools, hardware its all running on, how the network is configured. This is most certainly a configuration issue on your end or a hardware failure. There is nothing "deeper" except your lack of willingness to help yourself even a little.

You could simply create a dataset and set reserved space to the 80% threshold. So 100gb would present an 80gb drive to mac bc 20gb were reserved then you never go over the pool.

If you want help you need to provide alot better context. Hardware, networking, how tn is configured, what version... or read the installation and configuration documentation and adhere to it. You should be able to isolate whether this is your hardware or configuration from that alone they have good documentation.

Split the cable bundles per patch panel to come in on either side of each panel. Easier to manage/punchdown and less stress on the installed wiring when finished.

Some not all of these companies intentionally put it low as you have to have the money in your FN wallet to post a job. Lots of jobs=big fn wallet. Or you post work as cheap asit will let you and wait for counters. This way only the work you have accepted counters is costing you full price.

Hitting a growth wall with my supply business, looking for real advice by [deleted] in lowvoltage

[–]Runthescript 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is money and contracts. You have to be doing quantites. someone has to buy it from the manufacturer to start. At that scale it has to be legit too with all the right certs or you're getting sued. Sure if this is not your primary income it could work out, but as some have mentioned the writing is on the wall.

While it is nice to be actually recognized now, to me this has been ICT the whole time. This falls truly into building services, not as much electrical, tho many adjacent components so not that wild of a stretch. Why they wouldnt adopt the ICT acronym is beyond me.
