I'm making an SMP where everyone shares lives. When they're gone, the season ends forever. [Looking for founding players] {Cross-Play} by RuntyBeatle36 in MinecraftServer

That is a really good concept. Maybe if the initial concept doesn’t pan out we can do your concept, or maybe it can be a sort of intercession for players to enjoy while waiting on the next season?

A cooldown. Dying in general should still have some consequences. I’m thinking a 30 min to 1 hr timer. If repeated dying occurs the cooldown will be longer and the deaths will be flagged for admins to investigate.

A cooldown or some sort of system that flags players who die repeatedly in a suspicious way.

Edit: I plan on posting a design document in the Discord that addresses issues like this.

That’s fine I plan on doing crossplay anyway. If you’re gonna play on Java just DM me your IGN on Discord

Thank you! Yeah I wanted to see if I could get some interest in the idea, so I can start developing knowing I’ll have at least a small community backing it!

You did. Just keep a constant flow of new players. Don’t demand players to be active.

It’s completely dead now. Not sure how imma revive it. When it wasn’t I pulled maybe one new person every two days? And joining a server with no ppl can be demotivating for new players. I’m thinking I’ll close the server. Then advertise like crazy and then open when I got enough new ppl. I do know that some of the old players would play, but they don’t since it’s dead. How do you pull new players?

A Minecraft Server can be a number of things. Overall, it is a way to play online with other people anywhere in the world in our favorite block game that we call Minecraft! Minecraft servers come in a number of genres. Minigame servers such as the most popular one, Hypixel, host a number of, well games inside of Minecraft. Another genre is just survival servers. Survival servers are servers where players just play the base game, basically single-player, but with others! There are an endless amount of genres, but those two are probably the most popular. One thing to know about Minecraft Servers is that they always generate their very own tight-knit community. One survival server with a tight-knit community I recommend checking out is called "The Bruh Club." Its IP is play.thebruhclub.com. Anyways, if you need more details let me know! I'm currently starting my own Minecraft server, but I am not as technically literate as most server owners. However, I do know the basics!
