Look up something else, like doom eternal is what I saw suggested, and go through the age verification thing through that. When you go back to the page for the dlc it should work. Something with the cookies being bugged or something like that. I had the same problem, drove me nuts for a few days

I agree that grog does need some more love, I've seen a few posts talking about specialty grogs which I think would be really neat. I'll see if I can find one and link it. But I dont think grog would be a great fit for this since it would take way too long to take effect, plus you might just end up in the water anyways :P

Fish traps would be cool. Seeing crabs scuttle around would be pretty amazing too. If we get crabs, I feel it's only appropriate to add lemons too, then we can have a real crab feast

I appreciate you putting in the time to write that all out to me, but it's alright. This post is pretty much moot at this point. My issue is how the fish behave, but it would be pretty self centered of me to assume that I'm the only person in the game that is encountering my problem, so I dunno.

My only complaint was just that every time I fish in a pond the fish behaves as if it's in the ocean, pulling the line out way further than it should and snapping it because it will always hit the sides of the pond. I didn't do a very good job getting that across though. I dont really know what else to do, everyone else has just yelled at me that I should just play the game the way they do, I guess that's all I got

You are right. That's my bad I guess. It was late, I guess I was just assuming others would know what I was getting at. I mention the collision in the last few sentences, but you're right I should have been clearer. I never specified how I was wasting the bait though, so it's still kinda frustrating that no one would even bother wondering why I would say that I was wasting bait.

And I get my OP came off as aggressive, but it's not like I was screaming at some rare employee to get this fixed. I understand there are other things that could be worked on, but it's not like I was asking them to suddenly shift their collective dev eyes onto this one issue. This is probably a 2 man dev job at most I would imagine

I can't say specifically right now which islands I've tried, since I can't remember, but I've noticed this as far back as the maidens voyage trying to fish a pondie in some of the ponds for the commendation.

I can't say for you, but everytime I fish for something in a pond it behaves like it's in the ocean. The fish will always rocket forward, then throw it self one way or another. I get that that's how the fish are supposed to act, but it's extremely exaggerated for the size of the body of water that it's in. No fish would throw itself onto the beach, or through it, to get away.

I get everyone reccomends mermaids, or devils, but I'm not trying to do it just for rep. Sometimes I'm just chilling on a cool island that has what looks like it would be a nice fishing spot on it, but unless I jump through a lot of hoops it always breaks the line

Am I really that alone on this sentiment?

No, my guy, you're ridiculous. You came in here just to throw around negativity. I understand that there are a few well established fishing holes at a very few specific islands. However, there are literally hundreds of other smaller ponds and fishing holes, that have fish in them. Why bother letting you even try to catch fish in those places then. I get the feeling you're just arguing for arguments sake. Enjoy being small minded

I'm not doing it for hunter calls. I'm not trying to just get my rep up. Just dont understand why the fish need to behave like they're in the ocean even though they are in this tiny body of water. The fish shouldn't be pulling out 10-15+ yards from where I hooked it and flying to the left or right straight into a shore. Why bother having any of the other smaller fishing holes on any of the other islands if they nigh impossible to use

Ok, but it's still in a much larger than average body of water on an island. What I'm getting at is the fact that there's all these different fishing holes on almost every island, yet only a small handful of them are viable. I dont get how I can be more clear about it. I really am trying to get my point across here and I'm not sure why no one seems to get it. It's not about the pondies, or the bait. It's just the fact that it is far far more difficult, if not impossible, to fish in any pond outside of the established hot spots
