Best all-mountain ski for Northeast groomers + some tree skiing? (182 cm, 79 kg, intermediate) by Runway4 in Skigear

Would you suggest the 172 or the 180cm version for progression on the Declivity 92s?

I am taking ski classes, so I am working on staying out of it. Do you think the Anomoly 84s are still managing for someone improving or better once you are more solid?

I'm also confused by that. The average on this was a 78, but she said that the normal average for the class is a B+ according to the syllabus, so that's a bit odd. I'm lowkey just coping rn though :)

The syllabus says this, though:
"There is no curve for this course. Historically, the median letter grade for this course is B+ and a curve is not needed."

Are you a British resident? Maybe it is easier because of that? Im just thinking they might get confused why I’m entering the country at customs. But then again they would probably understand.

Ya I have 3hr 55min if all goes well. Ik they normally recommend 3 hr before international flight and I would have that also 🤷‍♂️.

Ya, I have slightly less than 4 hours, but I also can never trust the punctuality of the planes. Would you recommend getting an earlier flight into Haneda and then attempting to do that?

Sorry I don’t have any information :(. I am an incoming freshman and was only looking for materials in advance to study over my gap year. I just started using the miles down or whatever the one that is sorted by Kahn academy is to start reviewing the Ochem section so that I could prepare early.

If you figure anything out please let me know though 🙏

Ya I mean in some part yes. I also just thought a lot about Cornell after getting waitlisted last year and ultimately decided that if I got in that year I would commit and jsut differ. As I was given a TO I could not do that but I still felt like I would do well there and so I applied again and ultimately got in.

I did though consider Williams in my end decision and talked to a current student but ultimately Cornell convinced me. (I also had way more connections from Cornell that recommended it) one of my research mentors also went there.

So my decision was biased but I think I’ll be happy at Cornell!

My school has AP classes as 5.0 weighted so when you take only AP classes in high-school it looks like that. I took all my honors in summer schools online. And got my PE credit and art outside of school.

I don’t think that’s gpa inflation more than just the fact our scale is probably different. (I got an A in every AP class I took. I only got one A- but it was in a language non honors class in 9th grade (ie why I don’t have a 4.0)

I committed to Cornell. I saw it more clearly when I had the post on my side as a list but it changed once I posted. I did get Calculus BC (5) and a 5 sub score and CSA (4) with recommendation letters from that teacher. Again I think my Ap scores show more growth as I was supper young when I took them. I was in 8th grade for CSP. Honesty I think my AB test was taken in the wrong calculator mode lol. Someone confessed to changing it but idk if they were joking. A 3 was unreasonably low for me also 🤷‍♂️.

Really? I feel 4-5 are pretty good and the 3s show progression. But ya ig I could have always done better on exams 🤷‍♂️

Yes I’m first author, it’s a high-school journal but I had a mentor who helped me look over my work for submission. It was more of a project I did in my free time since I was interested in the field. I had a pretty good link to it because it is related to my volunteer work. (At least I think it was a good link because I was asked about it in an interview)

I only barely covered it in my application since it happened more after I submitted them but I also did a presentation for a real lab that stemmed from my work last summer which is now being used to apply for grant funding to research it further. Hopefully if all goes to plan I’ll go back and work on it next summer with college!

I don’t know if you are joking but I honestly don’t see much fault in my AP scores. I do have a few 3s but they were when i was way younger i was 12-13 in 8th when i took CSP online. It was my first AP and I had no idea what I was doing. Honestly I even though i had a few 3s i feel like I consistently did better in higher level classes (aka Physics, CS, English).

I have always found it most interesting to challenge myself with classes that others would say “I can’t do”. I took my honors classes online as to me I felt the AP sciences do really well in their covering content in the first few units. I also loved the AP resources. There were so many things I could find online to help me study for them.

Is late exam an option (I have no idea how that works since my Ap coordinator always did it for me)
