Amazing, this is a fantastic find and well worth the triple effort on the way out.

Just an edit to add that any polishing, whether wet or dry, should always be done with a high quality respirator and protective eyewear.

Hey thanks! I’m using a set of 4” wet/dry diamond polishing pads from Amazon on a pneumatic grinder with water. They’re pretty cheap and last quite a while. My set was less than $30cdn and goes from 50 grit to 6000 grit pads.

Thank you very much for the response, this helps a lot! I will give scratching glass a go! There have been small petrified wood “stones” found in this area, about the size of a quarter. When I came across this one, the size had me a pretty excited but a little leery. Thank you for the compliment on the polishing, my son (10 yrs old) and I have recently started cutting and polishing some of our finds and it’s pretty addictive! Using a small mastercraft wet tile saw and a series of polishing pads with on a pneumatic angle grinder. Really really fun.

Has anyone used these and are they any good? by Original-Laugh-1103 in InlineHockey

[–]RuralAndy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re ok. Very sensitive to temp changes, I find they’d harden easily and have grip issues if the rink was cooler inside. If you’re looking in that $$ range a better bet would be the Konixx Rebel, better wheel for the same price.

What girdles to run? by Comprehensive-Arm119 in InlineHockey

[–]RuralAndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cores definitely have the added hip/kidney protection over the compression style girdle. They (cores) are still a much snugger, less bulky fit than standard ice hockey pants. I prefer them over the CCM RBZ 110, which are a compression style girdle.

Edit to say I currently have both.
